Hi all, so this might sound kind of strange, but I've never actually played OverPower, or at least how it was intended to be played. I collected the cards when I was younger and my friends and I just pretty much made up our own rules. Now that I'm older and much more experienced in gaming, I really wanted to actually learn how to play this game. I was lucky enough to stumble across this forum, as well as, find 5 of the 6 original starters for a decent price. I'm also hoping to find my old collection the next time I visit my mom. Anyways that's my story and any tips or advice you have for a total noob like me will be greatly appreciated. Happy gaming everyone.
Welcome, Mr. Mayor! This is a great community and you'll get support, mild taunting and ANSWERS to questions! The forum, as you can see is broken into topics. I spent a LOT of time with rules threads and deck construction. Also, if you havent found it yet:
http://overpower.ca/index.php
click on tool tabs: FANTASTIC resources! Check out previous events/tournaments: they have decks listed (for inspiration for your deck building or to see what you might face at a tourney)
A great resource for deck building & introduction to SUM TOTAL rule for building teams:

Also there's a facebook page for overpower with event updates, video posts from tournaments and the occasional link to a crazy post from ebay: "originals starter deck for $450", that kind of thing.
Also Youtube has hours of Overpower gaming thats very informative. When someone sees something you dont understand, replies are posted soon after!
Enjoy!
* PS: Thanks Jack for all that you do to support OP community!
