Can someone explain yo me how this would work?  Functionally, I understand, but my specific questions is this:

Panther can't normally play an 8F and the rules state that a card that cannot be used must be discarded.  It seems like a risky card unless the existence of the capability to play it alters the rules.

Can someone clarify this for me?

Thanks very much.

since the card removes a hit AND puts his fighting to 8, you can play the card to do either of these thing (don't have to do both)

ALs generally are not useful (morlocks being one exception).  i suppose if you wanted to put this card in, you'd probably have a characgter with an 8f already on the team, so you wouldn't have to rely on a perfect storm (it could also help with 8f teamworks)

Yeah, that's what I thought.  I would just rather not use the card at all instead of risking having an 8 I have to discard because I can't use it.
