So my wife and I have found a place to live, but I'm not one for debt. Fortunately when it comes to real estate, you can get fantastic deals if you know what to look for. If I completely annihilated my savings, I could buy this place, but I won't do that. I need to have some money left over, so instead it's time to sell off a bunch of my collectibles.

I'm still negotiating with Tussin for my extra New Universe to fill out some of the sets I now find myself obligated to part with, and I feel it would be in bad faith to break things off midway through. So I'll add some notations on my sets with regards to our trades.

A sealed box of Mission Control. Sealed Marvel starter decks (I need to check the composition, definitely Clobberin Time). A 2 row long-box, 3 more long boxes, and some assorted cards from across all sets comprising the rest of my excess cards (roughly in the neighborhood of 3-5 thousand cards). Some of those little how-to-play guides that came in starter decks. Some wrappers from X-Men packs. The binders and sleeves the cards are already in (not all cards are).

Every card in the sets that is not listed as missing is present and included in the collection; I have lists of the missing cards from sets I wasn't able to list (due to this post going over 20000 characters). I will try to post them in a reply or in a linked google doc tonight. I am going to go take some pictures of all this stuff after dinner to post here, so y'all can see what you're dealing with. I'd prefer to sell it all at once, but like I said, I'm doing this because I need money to go towards my slice of the American dream (a house for my wife and I). Yeah, I'm keeping a couple of sealed starter decks and some cool misprints for myself. They take up no space and will make the foundation of a sweet collection for me in a few years when I can collect again.

But you guys don't care what I keep, just what's up for grabs.

BUCKLE UP, THIS COULD GET WILD!

First, an image of (almost) everything I'm getting rid of. There's a few that slipped through, but I'll get them in another round of photos soon.

The 2-row box is partially-finished unaccounted-for sets. This includes 2-4 unfinished Mission Control sets, playsets or partial playsets for most OP base set characters, and more assorted cards. I forgot to take stuff out for photos.

On top of the box now, we have a sealed box of Mission Control and a sealed starter deck (Clobberin' Time).

Now, and image of the inside of the binders. The image binder on the right has some stickers which were made by a friend. I'd like to keep it, but can replace it with a black one like the ones in the back row of the image if I need to.


The big red binder has JLA and DC sets in it.


I need to take more photos of the DC extras, as there are quite a few and some of them are pretty sought after. I'll also post lists of the other set contents, as there are missing cards to be noted.

I received an initial offer of $400, with a request to be allowed to counter-offer when (as he admits) there is inevitably an offer from someone else for part or all of this. I think it's fair to do the following:

1 week from tonight (so Friday, Jan 9, 2015) at 7:00 p.m. Mountain time I'll stop taking offers on portions or all of the collection. Until then, I'll post updates of the high bids for the collection or portions of it twice a day, around roughly Noon and 6:30 Mountain time. I'll note whether it's currently more lucrative (and therefore the option I'll follow) for me to split up the collection and take the offers on portions, or to take the highest offer on the whole collection. I think this is reasonably fair and impartial, and hopefully will help me close the gap on what I need for my first home and what I have now while also helping at least a few people fill out their collections.

Also, if anyone is into other games, I'm liquidating some high end MtG items such as Japanese language foils of Metalworker, Sword of Feast and Famine, and other high end non foils (likely including my Unlimited Black Lotus). Also selling a complete collection of every card ever printed for Rage: The Apocalypse along with sealed product and other rare swag for that game.  Sorry if this last paragraph shouldn't be in these forums. I can edit it out if need be.

its all good man, i think it would be better for you to keep the New Universe card, the cards you were going to trade for... most people have those and/or are easier to get better value for you, don't worry about me

you might as well keep the binders, the weight of the binders will just increase shipping costs, you can send the sheeted cards together in a box and wrapped for safe shipping, and the singles in boxes.

i hope you get top dollar for your collection

Update: Not a lick of interest in any of this, which is kind of surprising. Everything is going up on eBay this weekend, divided up into Marvel, DC, and Image lots for auction.
