Title: Overpower is awesome.
Post by: Nightcrawler on June 07, 2008, 09:50:15 PM
Overpower is awesome. I first played this game thirteen years ago, and it's still awesome. Long live Vision (...due to "Android Endurance"). Hehe.

Overpower is friggin awesome.

I say, long live anybody on the same team as the Invisible Woman (Protective Wall). :P

On a side note, it's amazing what a decade of playing other games can do for your OP strategies. I threw together a deck on OPDeck last night that I'D be afraid to face. Mostly Specials, of course. :)

Yeah, it IS amazing!

Ideas that I may never have thought of back in the day seem SO obvious now! Kind of cool, isn't it?

Just curious. Who's in the deck and what makes it so frightening?

I'd love to see more discussion about different deck types and what makes them special around here.

I recently went with the Ravencroft Deck.  My buddy laughed at me for using my low rank cast of Spidey Villains (Rhino, Hobgoblin, Green Goblin, Doc Ock in reserve) but in the end my boys were still standing.

Awesome Home Base inherant (Multi Power cards do not count for spectrum KO) lets you take the hits, giving me card advantage, along with all the level 6 and 7 attacks the front line has.  It worked well.

Also if anyone is interested in playing still, just contact me for a version of OP Online.

Wow. Ravencroft? Nobody would expect it to be a team to be reckoned with.

What was your opponent playing?

You sent me the link to the OP Online stuff a while back. I just haven't had the time to actually poursue it. LOTS of things going on around here lately!

Also, we're so used to playing with our Homemade Cards and using our House Rules around here that I'm not sure I'd even remember how to play under standard rules!

Maybe before too long though.

I've used it and won twice now...  One opponent was playing a hell's kitchen deck.  The other was using a beyonder deck.  (with X-Babies, Scarlet Witch and 3 grid Magneto)

And long live Deadpool (Due to stacked inherant ability and his High Threshold of Pain)

Sounds like you and the folks you're playing with like to experiment around with a lot of different ideas. That's ALWAYS fun!

My son built a pretty heinous Beyonder deck one time. I can't remember all the characters in it, but it did include Jubilee and X-Babies (I think it was Jubilee). For about a week there, nobody could beat the crazy thing!

Here's to experimentation!
