I was wondering if I can play either of these cards in response to an attack?

Thanks.

Jack

Yes, the affect how the defender can be attacked so it's allowed to be played defensively.

If it changes how the attacker attacks, then no.

Kyoujin

OK, thanks.

So, example: Reavers are attacked and I respond with BJ: legal?

Beast is attacked by anything other than a Universe card and I respond with CD: legal?

Thanks Jack.  Really appreciate the quick response.

when I found out that BJ can be played defensively, I was just about as excited as when I found out about Gambit's HN  ;D

Both correct.

Kyoujin

Thanks Jack.

Furthermore, what happens to the card used by my opponent?  Is it then sent to the appropriate pile (dead pile, power pack, etc)?

yes, it's discarded as if it was defended by an AG-avoid

This sounds like acrobatics or neptunes armor can avoid Power Leech or an AV or FN.  True?
