Offensively: Krakoa, it has some very handy cards with Polaris' 4E, Sunfire's 3F and 4S (marvels), and Thunderbird's 3F - and then there's always Wolvie's 5I and Angel's 6E. Finally, it has a great offensive OPD in Colossus' Siberian Strength.

Defensively: Danger Room, a favorite for efficacy and personel. The AO, CD, BJ, and AG are sure-fire defenses, but also the AC is good cover and the AD blocks most everything. Then you have the AY, which can be quite handy if you're running a mixed team with Energy and something else, giving an off-energy character an 8E for the battle.

As a Battlesite: the two I mentioned before are some of my favorites. I also really like using Wundagore Mountain, Avalon, The Outback, and lately I've toyed around with Fall's Edge Compound, finding that BS to be quite a fun surprise!

As a Homebase: Danger Room (for Gambit), Muir Island (for the Highlander strategy), and Avalon (the challenge of it) are some of my fav's  :D

Krakoa:  Are Sunfire's 3F and 4S good?  Yeah, they're icons for spectrum, but why not play something else?  An ally, or a Doubleshot?  They seem weak sauce... share with me their power!

Falls Edge:  So I can activate the BS defensively from this battlesite???

the BS can be played defensively!

Also, the 4S has a GREAT secondary if you can get it in play! i usually use the 3F if it's a good off-suit, otherwise I use his AM. The 3F is great because it's a guaranteed Venture boost.

What is highlander strategy?

"There can be only one." was the tag line for the movie Highlander. so, the build is that every card is a OPD, including Power cards. that's the part that makes it toughest in OP. Muir Island can make it work because of it's Aspect card.

For remainder of game, Muir Island's team may draw 1 card from top of Draw Pile immediately after blocking an attack using an Intellect Power card. Discard if duplicate.hmm

Am I the only one that opened Muir Island on the OPO editor to see what he is talkin about?? :o

I'm a fan of the Avengers Mansion. Both as a battlesite and homebase.

As a base, it took some tweaking to find the right mix, but the introduction of Any Power power cards make all the difference.

As a battlesite there's a decent level of defense, but it's the only site that gives you access to the all powerful Viking Pyre.

Other great bases include Landau, Luckman, and Lake (Just look at that aspect!); Dept H. is fun; Avalon is a powerhouse if you can strategize around the penalty; and Cape Citadel has an amazingly good inherent.

Which homebases didnt' have an aspect card?

do you mean for the purposes of that Aspect (and for Asteroid "M" and Muir Island)? yes, a DblSht counts. The key is the word "using" in the card text. Because it's open-ended, it includes any defense that "uses" a Power card to block the attack. so, DblSht, BU, Training, etc. Maybe the coolest opportunity (though I've never done this), would be to use a BS-Special with the Power card defense!
