Title: CA CR and HJ specials
Post by: thetrooper27 on January 26, 2013, 01:42:52 AM
Anyone ever use these to a big advantage?  You can plan a strategy with Mystique and Super Skrull, but Quicksilver is a little bit more tricky.

The CA's are much better at first glance than Watery Grave and Gamma Transfusion.  These just seem to flat out suck.  Am I missing something?  Why in the world are these OPD's?

Quicksilver's card is probably a counter to X-Babies and the more difficult to KO characters. Not a strategy to depend on at all.

Note that we only included it in our Marvels because that was the intended special for Quicksilver, we didn't want to change around cards based on their usefulness.

And the HJ special is pretty useless though it does state icon so you can move around more than just Power cards (Teamwork cards is probably the ideal swap). Probably still only useful if your team has a difficult to KO character since Spectrum KO seems to be the preferred method of KO in most cases.

I suppose you could pound a useless character, then Quick Mix the hits to a good target.  Might be a nice play.  Gamma Transfusion should've been so much better.  It made the SheHulk SheHulk for crying out loud!

Hulk may switch any two hits with an intellect icon on the permanent record of any two frontline teammates.  If Hulk is one of them, the other's strength rating increases to 7 for remainder of game. :)

QUICK MIX is a very good card, when it's used to it's full potential, but it requires a bit of a perfect storm. Think of this:

[Gambit]   [Rogue]
p: I/S          F/E

So, you have an Intellect and Strength hit on Gambit from a previous battle, and Rogue has the Fighting and Energy hit. So, in this new battle, you have QUICK MIX at your disposal (maybe kept in hand, so as not to tip off your opponent). When you seemingly drop a "pointless" level 1 Intellect on Gambit, your opponent elects to let it land, considering it fairly inconsequential. Then let's suppose you can even drop a similar level 2 Energy hit on Rogue...

[Gambit]   [Rogue]
p: I/S          F/E
c: I              E

and NOW you drop the QUICK MIX and swap their Permanent Records!

[Gambit]   [Rogue]
p: F/E          I/S
c   I             E

and you've KO'd 2 characters on a single turn!

 ::) Show off. :P

Well played.  The current battle/permanent record thing went over my head till you explained it that way.  I suppose you could work CR's this way, as well.  Might be a bit harder because it must be equal value and only power cards, but could be done.
