I feel like this one gave the best Power Cards... was it something to do with Power Cards?
it's not power cards, but it IS game-related
are they over the sum?
check that nail for a concussion, cause that man just hit it on the head!
guess that illustrates that the sum deck rule was an afterthought...
Pretty interesting.
when i was looking at them, i was sure doom's deck would fly over the sum, but it slid in right at 58

As I was reading down the thread I thought Dr.Doom's would be too!
It's funny that they made a starter deck that isn't tournament legal! I wonder if it was banned from sealed-deck tournaments, then! lol
funny you should mention that
i was looking through the tournament guide, and they state that in sealed deck tournaments, sum-deck doesn't apply
that sent me right to opo to build the decks to find out which violated sum-deck, and led to this topic

ha! and here we are 8)
When I first started playing the game in 1995 I would play an FF deck and my college roommate would just play a max-8 deck with good special cards. This is when there were only 3 stat characters. And I wondered why the FF wasn't playable back then lol.
QUIZ TIME:
Which power card has the copyright/character name written along the vertical?
had to look that one up!
we'll see if anyone can get it without doing so
Who has the most appearances on battle sites?
Who has the most appearances on cards that aren't theirs/related to them? (Ie wolvie and danger room)
without looking, i'm gonna guess wolverine.
iirc, angel appeared on a high number of sites too (I guess they really wanted to maximize that 1 special)
What special?
his HO special. 6e, -4 to venture if successful

I mean, if it's not Wolverine, I'm shocked. Between the two of them, Wolverine and Spider-Man are easily Marvel's most popular individuals, and we all know how Spider-Man was treated by OP :-[
ill take a peek at the cards and look for the answers...
it's definately Wolverine:
Department H
Krakoa
Landou, Luckman and Lake
Madripoor
Outback
Princess Bar
Savage land
Who has the most appearances for being on any overpower card but not having an overpower character card?
Example: (http://overpower.ca/thumb.php?file=cards/specials/657.png)
Who has the most appearances on cards that aren't theirs/related to them?, maybe wolverine again?
I went thru every character on a battlesite and here I have listed people with a score of 3 or more.
First # is appearance, 2nd is power-ness (borrowing powers):
Wolverine 6,3:

well, remember BasiliskFang, the artwork for The Marvels was never comissioned, so I'm not really sure those would count in our totals here (and this is super-duper-official :P)
Also, I'm pretty sure that's Shadowcat in the control room for the Mutant Schooling card (that was maybe Banshee with her, but I can't tell for sure...)
i'd guess it was cypher (which would be 2 appearances for him, not having a character)
off the top of my head, cyber also has 2 appearances (8 power card, and a basic universe)
Loki has 3 cards. Any hero and 2 power cards.

Wow. Didn't even think about that.
seemed like as good as an excuse as any to pull out the ol binders and take another look through the cards. this is what I came up with:
5 appearances
thanos: adam warlock FE/infinity gauntlet artifact/IG mssion 7/2 IG events
wasp: 1f/ally/crossing event/crossing mission/secret wars mission
4 appearances
abomination: any AR/8s/2i/8s BU
loki: any AF/5i/4s/8eBU
sauron: any AA/any DF/3e/training
3 appearances
blink: AoA location/AoA aspect/DS
cannonball: SotF event/x-mansion aspect/morlocks EX
century: 5e/1m/training
chamber: 1m/krakoa aspect/white queen FA
cyber: 8f/5s/8fBU
electro: 4e/6eBU/DS
gamora: adam warlock AD/infinity gauntlet event/teamwork
pip: adam warlock AD/infinity gauntlet event/teamwork
ultron: 6i/secret wars event/Pym JC (and possibly another, but it may have been a generic robot)
2 appearances
avalanche: nightcrawler DZ/blob AE
black tom: deadpool AG/teamwork
captain marvel (female): secret wars mission/secret wars event
cypher: x-mansion aspect/shadowcat BZ
demogoblin/shriek: maximum carnage mission/teamwork
destiny: SotF event/AoA aspect
dum dum dugan: 2 nick fury specials
franklin Richards: AoO mission/ally
howard the duck: 2m/DS
Jarvis: crossing mission/ally
JJ Jameson: ally/scorpion HE
jury (venom villains): separation anxiety mission/event
kang/mantis: crossing mission/event
krakoa: krakoa location/aspect
lizard: sewer location/1i
Lockheed: ally/shadowcat BZ
magik: AoA aspect/x-mansion aspect
man-thing: 1m/DS
mephisto: any AF/gauntlet event
moira mactaggart: muir island aspect/ally
nebula: 1e/6fBU
punisher (galactus robot): coming of galactus mission/event
pyro: sentinels DT/3e
rick jones: ally/captain mar-vell JB
Sharon carter: captain America JC/annihilation affair event
skin/M (gen x): krakoa aspect/white queen FA
stan lee: marvel univers/manhattan aspects
starfox: gauntlet event/DS
there's also a bunch of symbiotes on the separation anxiety missions/events. some of them are the same, but I don't know if they ever got names (and don't really care enough to look). there's also a generic green guy on mr fantastic/quicksilver specials that may be radioactive man, or may just be a generic green guy ;). there's also a whack of characters that make only 1 appearance, which I can list if any other nut out there besides me cares about this king of thing
some thoughts:
someone in charge of the first set really liked century...and to a lesser degree cyber
thanos/wasp having the most is fitting. he's a big baddie, and she was a founding avenger

That would be the Galactus, Adam Warlock, Silver Surfer that appear on the 8S+IE 8)
Yes that's the one that gave me the idea.
What tw cards show people who don't have hero cards? (Ignore if they have a team card like team x or starjammers.)
man, I was just going through all the cards not too long ago when I made that list, and I couldn't come up with any off the top of my head
...so I had to peek
a hint for anybody trying
there are 5 marvel characters (that I counted) on tws without character cards, and they are spread out through only 3 cards
wow, well, I can think of a few off the top of my head... but they're maybe technically on "team" character cards... maybe... idk, but I'll be thinking about this one!
What card's art references the game?
I know of 2.
Card art that references the game, 1 would be Wizard in Top Hat and Tails, for sure. The other would be...?
It's a promo. And yeah withat.

Wizard Top Hat & Tails
Remove Visor
there is one more.
its more of like "who is pictured" rather than what (ie- the overpower logo).
remove visor is a good catch.
remove visor was the only one I knew off the top of my head
anyone remember in the comics, onslaught was playing franklin Richards in overpower. iirc, a darkclaw from amalgam was shown
Yes, I saw that panel in a thread here?
Tomorrow, Wednesday ill post the answer.
New question:
What power card, when rotated 180 degrees does not show it's value right side up?

that would be the lv.7 Any-Power!
would the 3rd be team overpower?
weird, I never actually looked that close at the art on the DC BQ to notice that they were overpower cards...nice!
Yes and yes. 7 any and team overpower
