Title: onslaught's citadel
Post by: breadmaster on March 10, 2011, 03:40:11 PM
here's a card i'm not sure i completely 'get'.  most homebases with a negative inherent let you build teams you otherwise couldn't with the sum-deck rule.  the penalty on this one is harsh, yet of all the combinations with the 6 characters, only combos with onslaught, dark beast and sentinels violate the rule.  still lots of opportunities for good, if not great teams, without the homebase

then they add the aspect cards, and while their's is not useless, it's not one of the better ones (non opd +4 venture).  not enough to build a team around like some aspects/battlesite inherents

am i missing something with this one?

Nope, you're not missing a thing. The team isn't nearly powerful enough to warrant the penalty, and it can be made many ways without the need for the base. I don't know what they were thinking.

Same with Gamma base, but at least they don't have a crippling penalty.

As I mentioned in response to your house rules BBH, which for the most part are great by the way, allowing all 6 character homebases to shift attacks makes alot of sense to increase their viablity and accept the penalties.  BTW I like your mission specific solution to the Citadel.

Citadel came out before X-Man existed, so they probably didn't anticipate him only costing 17 and allowing you to make the best Citadel lineup without going over the point limit.
