Title: reyes and marrow
Post by: breadmaster on March 20, 2011, 05:16:14 PM
despite coming out of the gates slow, both these characters improved alot through the sets, and up to marvels.

too bad they can't be used out of a battlesite, cause they have some beautiful cards (marrow...sewer...am i missing something: of course they had to make room for angel, abomination and lizard >_<.  or what about the morlock tunnels)

anyone build any competitive teams around either of these two?

Reyes is pretty decent in an Intellect deck, her inherent allows her to use 8's for defense. I think my brother had her in his team at the last meetup.

that's true, i forgot about the reyes inherent (mostly since i still need that card :()

that does make her alot more appealing to use

I've used Reyes in a couple of INT decks in the past.
I've used Marrow a few times in some okay decks. Her LO is more useful than it may seem at first. She also gets a targetted AI, which still has lots of uses. Her Bone Snap is pretty good, but there are other cards that are better for a deck...

I use Marrow in MvC2.

I love using Marrow (and Maggot for that matter) I think that they both have some fun cards.  Recently I have had some success using Marrow with Phoenix, The Reavers with Sunfire in reserve.  (I know it sounds bad but it has surprised a couple of opponents)

I thought the same thing as well for the longest time. I was also really happy because it made using The Sentinels so much better for me.  ;D

This got discussed in another thread and it was stated that you cannot use the avoid for teammates.  Where is the source for this statement so we can clear this up?

(on paper) I just put Marrow in a deck with Cable, Sabra, and Strong Guy. I'll construct it tonight. Maybe I'll post it in the Deck Construction  :)

palatinus; it just seems that's the way it's played.  i agree with you, the wording seems to indicate otherwise

There's an erratum for the "EE" coded cards. It states:

QuoteEE This Special may be used to avoid 1 power card attack that is made against the Character playing the Special OR one of the character's teammates. It can also be used to remove a hit from the Character playing the Special or one of their teammates.

There is no punctuation to help sway the meaning of the card to restrict ONLY removing a hit from a teammate.

QuoteAvoid 1 attack made with a Power Card or remove 1 Power card hit from {character} or teammate.

Funny thing is that I thought the lack of a punctuation is what initially confused me into thinking it was restricted.  ;D So glad for the erratum though.

In terms of the marvels Inhumans EE special, if it was meant for the target or teammate to avoid it would say that at the beginning and not restate that it can be used for the inhumans like it does at the end, dont you think?
