So a couple of years ago when I began tinkering around with Overpower again I made a DC3 set. At that point I was still figuring out some of the underlying balances and rules of cards. I'm actually still happy with much of what i made but some of it needs revisited. I hadn't figured out when Inherent abilities were granted so some characters that didn't really need them got them. Also some of the characters in the DC3 notes were relatively hard to find art and/or information for.
I've been itching to do some more DC characters so I decided to divide the previous DC 3 set up. I'm planning on the revision only featuring my remade specials and characters and the cards from the DC3 notes and extra specials for the characters from the first 2 sets so all the official characters have 7 specials. I will host the new ones on imgur since the old photobucket posts seem to be unaccesable.
Lobo, The Legion, Deathstroke, The Rogues and Impulse will stay relatively the same. The JSA will be adjusted to match the notes better. I'm going to add Black Lightning, Fate, The Hyperclan, Mordru, Shade and Starman. The locations will be the ones from the DC3 notes. I'm also going to make Batman/Superman characters that have inherents but don't need grid changes.
All the extra cards i had will be divided out into new sets. I"m planning on a second Justice League set, Batman, JSA, Titans/Young Justice, Superman/Flash, Mystic/Vertigo, and Green Lantern sets.
So to start with Black Lightning. Since he now has his own CW series Black Lightning has a lot more exposure. Comixoloy allowed me to get some good pictures for him. I had trouble figuring out what Beagle was from the card names. Turns out he was an street informant that Lightning used. That helped me figure out what series the card names came from. Weirdly enough in that series Lightning was based out of a bad neighborhood in Cleveland not Suicide Slum. (Although in the older DC comics Metropolis was roughly concurrent to Cleveland so not that weird). I used some art from the Year One series and some from that series. Made him a good Reserve character.

Hyperclan was a band of White Martians that masqueraded as a new group of heroes to sow distrust between the JLA and humans while they prepared for their invasion. They were the kickoff villains to the new JLA series in the 90s. While they all had the full martian abilities they at first only seemed to have specific superpowers. So i tried to make the specials represent what they were posing as.

Fate was an odd 90's revision of Doctor Fate. He spun out of the Zero Hour crossover and only lasted for a few years until he died trying to stop Mordru before Dr Fate made his reappearance in the JSA series in the 90's. You can see the 90's Liefield influences in him. Big knife, antihero etc...... He forged the Dr Fate helmet into a dagger and Egyptian themed throwing darts. The cloak became bandages. I haven't quite hammered out his stats yet.

I never considered Black Lightning as a Reserve, but it works. Can Beagle be played with a defensive action? much more valuable if so.
No Flower of Wrath for the Hyperclan? they were kind of a 1-hit wonder, like the Cape Citadel team.

Well, according to some internet sources i read, Metropolis was roughly a replacement for Cleveland. Chicago would make sense too. Port in the Midwest. Although in The Death Of Superman story i think i remember there being a reference to Doomsday or some of the Justice Leaguer's being in Ohio. Which would make sense for the Cleveland substitution.
I've been plodding away at my cards. But I'm in the middle of a basement remodel (including bathroom, ugggh) so I do not have as much time as I would like for fun things. I have finished a few new characters though.
I'm still working on the Fate character card. I think I've settled on 6-6-3-3 for his stats but am still trying to think of a decent inherent ability.
In the meantime, the characters I created Character Cards for with Revised stats, I've updated. I gave inherent abilities to characters who shouldn't have had them based on their stats. So i corrected those. I've also started adding Batman/Superman characters who should have had inherent abilities. I stole a few from the suggestion list I found somewhere on this site. I made a few of my own.

From the notes for the DC3 set (the card titles) the Mordru that was scheduled to appear in DC3 was the Legion villain from the future. not the one that was introduced in the JSA series at the end of the 90's. Post Zero Hour version I am thinking too. I have never read any legion comics except the issues i pulled most of this art from. One card is from the JSA version and one is Pre Zero Hour but I did that on purpose, the titles lend themselves to other versions of his character. (The JSA one is supposed to become the Legion one in the future anyways, I think) Also he is more of a Godlike character so I had to tone his stats down a bit.

Thanks. I had to go back and look for your Shade, I had forgotten that one. 8 could be argued for too. I have changed the inherent on mine. Since i forgot how battlesites work, my inherent was redundant. I've changed it to "Energy power cards are +2 when defending battlesite."
Cape Wedgie shall reappear in the Titans/YJ set. I will definitely not be getting rid of that card.
I'm pretty close to finishing up everything for this set. Just need to do some new specials for the JSA and a few more tweaks here and get some time to upload and post everything.

Most of these cards are the same as I had done before. The Aquaman - Tempest Special is new since that was in the DC3 notes. The one thing i didn't change to match was the Any Character Specials. I was perfectly happy with those and decided to leave them as is.
Azreal, Bane, Batman and Catwoman got some upgraded specials because their's weren't great. Bane's Enhanced Physique is different from my last version. Buffed a little bit.

boy, have you been BUSY! but then, as I went through them individually, I kept saying "I have that one" over and over. so on the newer stuff:
Tempest is justa copy of Dolphin. I think you might want to change the mechanic.
Bane's Enhanced Physique is a change. instead of 1 skill from 6 to 8, it's now 2 skills from 6 to 7 - makes him a little more versatile, and it's more "in-line" with similar type Artifacts.
Penguin - limiting it to Intellect makes sense. I think Fighting would also be reasonable/logical. I can/could go either way on that one (or both even).
Poison Ivy & Two Face - never seen those variations before. while i'm not sure Ivy's IA does much for her, Dent's IA seems pretty cool. the old bugaboo called "play testing" will tell if it's too much. but the "2" theme of it all just fits all too well.
and I feel pretty silly for missing Shade's IA - I guess I see him as an 8E so much that I didn't read the IA. it WAS meaningless - now it IS meaningful. (ain't proof-reading a bitch?)

Justa, I can not believe that i didn't check and see that Aquaman already had a JC special! Exactly the same too. :-[ Thank you for catching that. I will have to get that changed. As for Poison Ivy's Inherent I think I need better wording, My intent was to cover any Poison Ivy Specials targeting opponent's characters and any of her Specials in their Hits from Current Battle and Permanent Record.

I have a few new ones today including Cyborg.
I decided to call him Cyborg Superman like you suggested once justa. I'm just going with the assumption that the cards from the DC sets would be "errata'd" to match. The character card is simply changing his name to Cyborg Superman. The Kryptonite special i tweaked a little bit to make it better against Superman. Thematically appropriate.
The rest of the Specials should all be the same except for the addition of Wintergreen as a special for Deathstroke since that was the sixth card in the notes.

yes, the tweaked Kryptonite and Wintergreen were the only ones I hadn't already seen. (some had the old blue border frame - remember that?) I like the choice of card mechanic for Wintergreen. follow it up with Sidearm, make a killing out of it.
Since Oliver Queen is going to get his own character card I ditched all the extra ones of Green Arrow I had made, just focused on the Connor Hawk version (I think that's who the Overpower one was). Most of these are the same but i changed the card name of one Green Lantern special to match the name of the card from the DC3 notes.
