Title: question for those who played in sanctioned tournaments
Post by: breadmaster on May 19, 2010, 12:53:20 AM
did you have to submit a deck, or could you change characters from round to round

could you tweak your deck?...switch between any heroes and battlesites?...switch events?

Of course you could NOT tweak your deck in anyway. You went with one deck, and stuck with it the whole way through.

It is a resonable question. I played  in WotC - Battletech tournaments back during the same time period.  Having a sideboard that you could rotate 8 cards out of your 60 card deck in games 2 and 3 (each was best of 3) was pivitol in making a deck work. It is one of the things that I wish we could do in Overpower. 8 cards that could be "swapped" in an out at a 1 for 1 basis would make best of 3 matches much more competitive. I often think of differnt sideboards that i would put in Overpower Decks. It might be worth a play test.

I actually agree that that would be an interesting and fun thing to play test.

The above post I must apologize for as I was just lampooning the general attitude that Dr.D seems to use in many  of his posts.

I like this idea also. I used to play battletech too, and wouldn't of minded if the side-bar got added into Overpower.

again about tournaments:

could you switch your reserve, or is that locked in as well?

Technically speaking your reserve is not locked in and *could* switch it... but you ARE locked in for the complement of special cards you've added, so switching the reserve would probably hurt you.

Unless you're using Hell's Kitchen!  ;D  Then go ahead and switch away, it won't hurt you one bit. ;)
