Title: Custom Holo cards
Post by: gameplan.exe on August 29, 2011, 01:23:52 PM
I recently created a Custom HOLO Hero card for Gambit (http://www.beenhereandthere.com/SMF/index.php?topic=526.0 (http://www.beenhereandthere.com/SMF/index.php?topic=526.0)) and I was so please with the results, that I decided to get the other 3 Holo character cards to create their OP versions as well. They are for Cable, Magneto, and Wolverine. I've been kicking around some ideas with other people and have settled into some good ideas, but I thought I'd get some more feedback from a larger pool of people. I posted the details of the characters below, but please read this small disclaimer:

I realize that characters with high grid totals, and 7 or 8 dual grids specifically, do not typically have Inherent Abilities at all, much less useful ones, but these are already for fun. I figured they should really be better than their regular versions. As for the grid totals, I wanted to keep them the same as their IQ counter-parts because (I think) all of the DC Holos kept the same grid totals.

Now, on to some of the details I've tried to work out -

Cable: Dystopian Warrior
[6-8-4-5]
"+1 to the Venture total for each hit in Cable's Permanent Record."

Magneto: Erik the Red
[8-3-5-6]
"Fighting Power cards are +3 when used for defense."

Wolverine: Weapon X
[4-8-6-1]
"Fighting attacks may not be moved or shifted from Target Character."

Thoughts?

p.s.: There is a 5th holo from that set, which I have. It features the X-Men Blue Team (minus Jubilee). I've been trying to work out some kind of Hero card, similar to Team-X, but it's a lot harder if I'm trying to incorporate 6 heroes... ideas on that would be great to hear.

Magneto & Wolverine:

And also, for kicks and to satisfy my brother's fanboyism, I made him the following "Foil" character cards for his boy, Spider-Man:

Awesome stuff!  I like that Spidey 2099 is kind of an amalgamation of Spider-man and Scarlet Spider.

thanks! and yeah, I wanted to do something to really, really boost Spider-Man. I mean, not to the point of being broken in the game, but to really elevate him. He's actually a decent character in OP, but compared to his comic-counterpart, I always thought he was pretty lacking. These will help :)
