Title: trivia time!
Post by: breadmaster on October 30, 2011, 07:41:57 PM
i was looking through battlesites, and came across a factoid with age of apocalypse

despite only having 5 characters with specials, this battlesite is unique, with respect to the specials which can go under it

i know it's vague, but can anyone guess what this trait is?

EDIT:

lots of views, but no guesses: did i make it TOO vague?

hint: building the battlesite on opo helps

I had a guess, but as I typed it, I realized it was clearly wrong... but now, I wonder...

it's the only battlesite that can have a card from literally every (marvel) set released

original
power surge
mission control
onslaught
iq
monumental
classic
megapowers
x-men

not only that, but it's actually, a DECENT combination.  the major drawback, is that there's only 1 monumental card.  it's shadowcat's doug ramsey (opponent must reveal hand and play open handed).  it's not the greatest card, and it's also opd (much rather have morph's copy, or shadowcat's HQ

Wow...  That's actually pretty awesome observation there.  Having access to the cards might have made that a teensy bit more obvious, but I doubt I would have come up with that.

EDIT: I thought you were basing these off the main sets, not the promo sets. Otherwise you can include Adam Warlock's 4 card promo as a "set" as well.

I always considered the Adam Warlock cards to be Mission Control chasers, as they were done with the same boarders at the same time, but that's just me.  :)

Onslaught...  that was it's own set.  :D

Officially, they are Power Surge promos.

If not the Adam Warlock cards (since they would be reprinted in Monumental) What about the Hillshire Farms set?

dammit...that's what i get for speaking in absolutes :'(

i plum forgot about warlock/hillshire.  warlock, one could argue, but hillshire farm (despite having reused borders) are not going to be confused for any other set

guess i'll have to settle for battlesite with the most sets represented (i'm guessing any site with hillshire or warlock will be lacking in others)
