i was thinking about one of the criticisms of any hero decks. it seems they have weaker defense
simply making an any hero AD (tm may avoid any attack) seems like it might be too strong
however, an any-homebase AD gives every deck a chance to use it, but any-hero decks get the slight advantage of being able to place it
thoughts?
it makes sense
home turf an all
it's not a bad idea, but it's also not like you need to place an avoid. I mean, unless you plan on conceding the battle from the top, it's not really much of a bummer to not have the ability to place it. It doesn't seem to be much of an edge for the Any Hero teams.
What about making an AnyHero version of BAMF? That way it can be used personally, but it's not as strong as Spawn's AD...
Speaking of Spawn, has anyone made a good looking Any Character out of Spawn's OD-Special? It's my understanding that it was intended to be an Any Character/Hero...
hmmm...but by that logic, there's never a need to place anything.
sometimes you conceed, sometimes your opponent conceeds
being able to place an extra card and take that advangate into every subsequent battle is not to be overlooked.

True, but anytime I use an Any Hero deck, I never place the avoids. I keep that place spot open for Power Leech, Web-Headed Wizard, or (hypothetically) for Devourer of Worlds.
The bigger point to be made is that I think Any Hero decks need more help than an Aspect card that they can place. I don't think A-Next helps Any Hero decks, to any measurable degree, more than Battlesite decks :-\
fair enough, but i'd say placing a-next does in fact help to a measurable degree

and what is that measurable degree?
it has won me games that i would have lost if it wasnt' placed from an earlier round

right, but that's not really measurable. I was being literal, here. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to place A-Next and when I'm playing with a Homebase or using a Marvel Universe, there have been times I wished I had Team Overpower... but it's not really the same kind of advantage as having an avoid 6 or less...
In the end, it'd still be a great addition to Overpower. But, if the intent is to muster more balance between Any Hero decks and Battlesites, I don't think it's enough.
how is it not measurable?
i got 4 extra venture points (3 if i would have used marvel u) that i wouldn't get if i wasn't able to place it from earlier.
without those 3 points, i'd have lost the game; with them, i won

Because you're talking about one instance. How often has that come up? I'm not talking about measuring the point value of the card, here, but the value in being able to place it. In terms of the potential of an entire deck, adding the ability to place a level 4 attack is... well if it
is calculable, it's beyond my math skills.
i get ya
beyond my math skills too. i suppose you'd have to build 2 identical decks, with one unable to place anext. 10,000 games sound good?
i'll brew the coffee ;)
