Title: New OpDeck in the works
Post by: Jack on April 04, 2012, 01:03:22 AM
As some of you my know, I'm currently working on a new version of OpDeck. I'll be spending more time on the project once my exams are done for this term and tonight was my last night of "free time" to spend on the design and UI/UX.

Now, without further ado, a screenshot:

To explain what's going on, the top section is where your characters are. Notice how Batman: Detective looks awesome and not stretched to fit the box like the desktop application. Stats will have various information about the team. The characters will stay in that area and you can reference them at any time when you click through the..

Tabs are pretty much borrowed from the original OpDeck. I put these in an order that should be a logical way to build a deck. Of course, some of you may disagree so they will be movable and saved into your preferences. So if you like to put Power Cards in a deck first before anything else, be my guest. The characters and specials tab will borrow some aspects from the current Characters tool so I won't spend time on it.

However, the Home Base/Battlesite tool has been retweaked. I'm only showing a snippet of the tab right now, this is how you would piece together your battlesite deck. I'm using Fall's Edge Compound since that was determined to theoretically have the largest battlesite, sorta like a worst-case-scenario. The red boxes (colours will change) are specials that the characters don't have. The white boxes are specials a character does have. Sabretooth is a special case because he has two AD specials so his AD box is split. By clicking on a white box, you are selecting that special to be put into your battlesite. Clicking the box will cycle through various colours (queue Onslaught) which represent the Activator you want to include in your deck (the first will be the 3-stat whenever possible), a pop-up after each click shows the Activator. Hovering over the box for a few seconds will pop-up the special for a quick reference. After a full-cycle, you go back to the default colour which means no Activator is chosen.

The black bar separates the OPDs from the non-OPDs. Clicking on a box within the OPD area will clear any previously selected box. Clicking on a box in the non-OPD area will clear the column of its selected box.

Some concerns that you may have but I have a solution for:
I also plan to have a total at the end of the table that shows how many Activators for that character has been selected.

This version of OpDeck will not on mobile phones. I'll devise a method for mobile deck building after this application is complete.

Any questions/concerns?

Looks good so far - and I agree with NG - can't wait to see the finished product.
