Have a look at this little lot.
Anyone on here having a bid on it?

I put a bid on it. The leading bidder is very persistent.
I was trying to price it out. $40 total for the four boxes of DC/MC.
28 packs of X-Men $100+
28 packs of Image $100+
20 Image starter decks $100+
Does anyone have an idea what the lot is “worth?”
edit: rough retail value
$3.95 X 28 = $110.60
$3.95 X 28 = $110.60
$9.95 x 20 = $199.00
DC/MC = $40
Total = $460.20
A rare find
Bit pricey for me.
A sealed box of Image boosters went for $500+, so 28/36 is roughly 75% of that.
I saw this too. I'm definitely following it, but it'll go for way more than I am willing to pay.
I think it sold for more than it was worth. Tho you cant put a price on pack opening! :o

I tend to agree with you. Image and X-men are rare, but I don't think they're worth that.
You're right about pack opening. It makes me sad that I will likely never open another pack of Overpower again.
I thought it was going to go even higher. Some one will probably end up reselling all of the cards anyways and make a profit.
It would have been cool to have won this auction, but given how rare unopened packs are from these sets I don't know if I could have opened them.
Unfortunately these are probably worth more unopened as everybody always thinks any unopened pack will contain the best cards in the set. If the cards were in a sealed box you could justify the cost. Unfortunately I use to go to a comic shop back in the day that would open the boxes and search till they found the value in the box and than mix it with another searched box to make it look full. My last good find was about 3 years ago at Frank&sons. A baseball card guy had old non-sports cards selling for 25cents a pack in a 5000ct box. I picked up 28 IQ, 30ish Classic, 40 monumental, 20ish JLA & 4 DC. Since I bought so many he sold them to me for $20. I thought about keeping them sealed & reselling them. By the time I got home that idea was out the door. I opened all of them even tho I didnt need anything! Hello my name is KObossy & I am an AO (Addicted Opener).
I need to go to frank n sons soon. If youre in the loss Angeles area we should play together.

Here is another one to look at.
At a quick glance it looks like it is missing one DC holo, the promo any mission, Adam Warlock cards and the Classic Inserts.
Thats is very pricey. I think you buy the sets & promo cards individually and pay $700 to $1000 less. :o
That's BBH's auction!

That's BBH's auction!
Seriously? As soon as I saw it I came here to see if it belonged to anyone.
Well, since my secret identity has been blown... >:(
Yeah, I've been assembling sets for the past two years to flesh out my personal collection, and to sell off the excess.
As for the price - it's actually about $500 less than the components if you separate them and sell for the going rate. Also given that you're not often going to see a complete set of Image or X-men, the value is there. (Both sets took me years to cobble together)
We'll see if it goes. If not I'll continue to try and add the missing promos to really complete it and see what happens in the future.

I think the collection would be great for someone who wants to get into the game but just can't find those hard-to-get expansions. I wish there were more sets available like this to help draw people in.

I meant its $700 to $1000 undervalued... ;)
Good luck on your auction, BBH. I hope you do get a buyer. I know how much work you put into collecting these sets. :)
About how much is a full set of XMEN worth? I have a box that is sorted, and I'm pretty sure it's complete.
Also, what cards are good in the set? Everyone quit playing about the time it was released, so a few of us played with some specials from the set and a few characters, but most of the Cape Citadel guys never got used, shadow king, cerebro, etc.
Intestinal Fortitude was my favorite card in the set... am I the ONLY person on earth that likes Maggott?
And while I'm at it, are Tunnel worms as good as I think they are?

I'm no expert on X-men, as I had quit playing long before that set was released, but I have collected nearly a full set since then so I can chime in on some card values.
Any Character Devourer of Worlds is by far the most valuable, at somewhere between $50 and $60. After that there are a number of $25-$30 cards including A-Next, Capt Britain's Supersonic, Sunfire's Atomic Flame and Typhoid Mary's Dressed to Kill. There are others in that price range, but those are the four I can think of, as those are the four cards I still need for the set.
I believe full sets have grabbed $300-$350 in the past. Less that Image, but more than any other set. Obviously the individual cards are worth more than the whole, but it's much easier to sell the complete set.
And yes, you are the only person on Earth who likes Maggot, although I don't hate him.
I've played since the game came out and proud to say I've never played with OR against Maggot :o
I've gotta give Maggot some love! I think that his specials are pretty good and I have definitely tried to use him in a deck or two.

same here
I made a homemade Maggott that had a 7 strength built in, and could play one duplicate tunnel worms special, and made a special called appetite for anything that removed one card from play. may not remove a battlesite, homebase, or character. Never got a chance to play him. Anyone care to comment? (not on maggott but on the playability/ power of the cards ;D).
Now to business, I sorted through all my xmen overpower stuff. I have a few extras. Including a Devourer Of Worlds and a Captain Britain Supersonic. If you have any requests, let me know, and I'll check with what I have and get back to you. I'd like to do some trading!

Looks like BBH is back at it. This time adding in most of the missing cards from the first listing. Just missing 4 Classic Inserts. Two of which are incredibly rare.

Very impressive! I'll be super envious of the person who does get their hands on this auction.
Yeah, I figured to hell with it, I pulled the missing cards from my collection to complete the listing for the sale. We'll see how she goes. I've had a couple of queries, including one guy asking how I could justify bumping the price! :o

Good luck with the auction bro. Thats a nice chunk of change. What is the highest priced OverpoweR auction anybody's ever seen sold on ebay? :o

Yeah, It's up there... but I did the math and it's still worth the value.
Figure this, below are roughly the going rates for each completed expansion set:
Original - $50
Powersurge - $120
Mission Control - $20
IQ - $350
Monumental - $250
Classic - $250
X-men - $400
Batman/Superman - $90
JLA - $90
Image - $600
$2230 for the expansions, give or take.
Plus I'm offering up all of the promos:
6 Holo heroes - $400 (some go for $100 apiece, others down around $60)
Assault on Onslaught - $80
Hillshire Farms - $70
Beyonder - $70
Adam Warlock promos - $50
Marvel Vs. WildStorm chromes - $40
DC any hero promos - $35
Full set of oversized Placards - $80
Then add all the rest of the little promos, and the 2 Classic inserts (one of which is listed at $284 by itself)... worth the price tag I've listed if you're serious about collecting.
I think the biggest OP lot I've ever seen go was someone's personal collection that went for about $1500, though it might have gone for less through the 'make an offer' tab.
