Big thank you to member chuu for helping me with the start of my custom cards. Advise, templates & in general setting everything up! Here is my first attempt of many.http://imgur.com/a/eWKSi

nothing major, i would try to push Cyber's name on the specials a little more centered, its cutting slightly into the image

strong specials and character

Nice set of specials, pretty straight forward & powerful.  Nice font on the character name, too:  Unique.  On the Specials design, the character name could also go a little higher.  I noticed on the right hand side, lower portion, the edge of the card seems to slant in a little, like the template wasn't perfectly rectangular.  May just an effect of the download, I don't know.
I think you "overpowered" the character too much.  You have him at 23 total, but I don't think he belongs with the likes of Apocalypse, Cable, Thor, Onslaught, etc.  21 should be max for him, but more realistically (IMHO), a 19 or 20 would be best.  Its all about "the eyes of the beholder" and how you see him, and I know you really like the character, so it is what it is.  Great 1st effort, if that's in fact what it is.

There is nothing wrong with the template, this the first time cyber has used photoshop. Looks like he tried to place the image and didn't stretch out enough to fit in the frame, some were fully stretched and some weren't.

I didn't notice that. I'll address it before printing, thanks for noticing that detail.

As for the font, yeah. I couldn't use the font that was attached to the template but since it is a custom after all :)

I think chuu is correct, I am a first timer at this whole process & I have no problem admitting a bit of a simpleton when it comes to computers period.

I think I did jack him up a bit but I kinda go by the comic version not so much the OP version for characters. If I was doing Apocalypse for example. I would have his stats at 6-5-8-8. I feel a lot of characters got the short end of the stick for balance & some got jacked way to high off go like Jubilee for example. Jubilee 6-4-2-4... Really? Stuff like that bugged me back in the day & to a certain point when looking at the game big spectrum still does. How does a character like Jubilee compete energy wise to say Apocalypse (5), Super Skrull (6), Omega Red (6), Nightcrawler (5) or Gambit (6)? All of the above outclass her "sparkle" power in every way energy wise. 4 fighting?? ummm.. ok, must have been a alternate reality version cuz no way could she compete with the Green Goblin (4F) as example. & 2 strength... Yeah, there again... I hate Mr. Fantastic as a character but he has a 2 strength as well & I'm sure he could out power her there. & intellect wise... a 4 again for Jubilee?? Is this really the same "act first ask questions later, oh crap that was stupid & hide while my team saves my over eager butt"?

Anyways, moral of my little rant  on OP rating is nothing more than what you closed with. All in the eye of the beholder. lol Her & several other "balancing acts" like her always did bug me lol guess they still do. I'm making cards now for my son & I to use. I do appreciate your input & agree with you that with the rating scale in op he is wayyy overpowered & should be more in line with Sabertooth or Wolverine but Im going from a different dynamic than originally conceived by OP's makers.

chuu

I admire your stance and agree that you make a good point :)

Cool, Cyber.  I always like seeing new takes on things, and "intent" usually explains a lot.
Other comments:  You might want to add cards codes.  Also, was not making "Deal" and "Rage" OPDs intentional?

Sorry, chuu, I didn't mean to disparage the templates.  But please look at Deal With the Devil, Psychic Control, and Psychotic Rage as opposed to the other specials. The right hand edge starts tapering in (on a straight line) about half to 2/3 the way down the picture part of the card.  I myself am Photoshop-illiterate, so I guess I shouldn't even try to explain a reason for it.  From what experience I had playing with graphics at my job (using Microsoft Visio), stretching would only explain it (to me) if the picture either had an uneven right border, or had been rotated a little clockwise.  I'm not trying to be picky, justa trying to understand.  (One of these days I'm getting a "Photoshop For Dummies" to (hopefully) finally figure out how to work the darned program.)

Lack of codes- Yeah, I thought about that. But after I came to the realization I was in fact making these cards for my son & not a sanctioned expansion deck. That part of the template works fine but my son wont care if it doesn't have a code on it in a nut shell. So between those & the font thing the concept of "Authentic" lost its value.

As for the cards. The Rage or level 8 strength- yeah, should have been a Anypower icon like The Hand's- HN but I don't think I have that icon so I improvised.

Deal with the Devil- A little bit of a back story. I am making Cyber for myself & Daken (still work in progress) for my son & a add on/better version of Witchblade for my wife (chuu put together for me already) as playable characters. During the picture gathering, card- name, type & designation process... My son & I had just finished a game where I had Mr. Sinister as one of my guys. I drew his card BZ (same wording effect as Cyber's card). My son thought that it was "a really cool card but not a OPD, should be more of them". So for Daken he appointed a card with that same effect but a non OPD. Soooo, as defense to this Frankenstein idea of his I followed suit & made the same card for my self with Cyber. In reality I will try & talk him out of this concept & go for more of a "negates a special card" or something close to The Reavers- AO. Because this is Overpower not solitaire but he is 7 so I shall see how effective I am at negotiating these terms lol

justa

It makes WAY more sense now.  My kids were 10 & 12 when OP 1st came out, and I also did whatever I could to increase their enjoyment of the game (including letting them & their friends pick 3 of my team's characters for me!).
Thanks for the explanation.  It makes me want to applaud your effort that much more.
The are icons you can download at www.overpower.ca.

Thanks justa, I'll go check that out for the icon. I can relate to the "hand picked team" lol idk how many times I've been stuck with the most bass-ackwards, low grade team VS his total count 70-85 teams! My wife didn't require handing me my a$$ to enjoy the game off go but her & I like taking random teams or people we normally wouldn't have chosen, low powercard decks (making special's more "special") & just having fun with the occational "serious" or competitive team deck build. Its spectated event on those games with the wife & I with the kids as cheer squad lol My son on the other hand is hell bent on breaking your mind, body & spirit with world domination on the table of OP. lol Which on the few occations I did win, it was like winning the superbowl or something for me lol But he has gotten to the point of wanting me to try so I get to explore teams more to my taste. So yeah, family OP time is something we all look forward to.
