Remembering JLA OPD's...

As I was listing my cards on the tradesite I got to some JLA cards & couldnt figure out why may ratio of OPD's to Non-OPD's is so high. Than I remembered a dealer at the time JLA was released had told me OvePower had not put enough OPD's in some booster boxes so if you mailed in the empty booster box bottom (or UPC, I dont remember) you would get some OPD cards sent to you. I bought his last few packs & he gave me the box. Sure enough OverPower sent me, if I recall right around 10 to 13 OPD cards. I ended up collecting around 15 more empty booster boxes & they sent cards every time. It was hard for me to complain about bad pack pulls after that (just kidding I still complained lol).

Yea it was one of those things you hear about that are never true. My first thought was why doesnt he do it and get the cards but he wasnt a single cards dealer. I figured what the hell I was going to buy his last JLA packs anyways ( I still needed more 7F cards for my Aquaman deck at the time).

I bought a box of JLA that was nothing but Rares (which were mostly OPDs). Fun times.

I have SOOOOOO many copies of Allies of the Deep (from the deep?)  I have a 10k card box and at least half of one of the 5 rows is just that card.  lol  Wish I knew about that mail away back in the day.
