Maybee for a guessing game for those who cant attend, you can pick up a pair of free used socks to give to whoever guesses the winner. Maybe some canned foods in the back for 2nd place?

I joke. Sue Me.  :-*

Hahaha, You're hilarious DrDeath...and I concur with you.

A couple of questions:

1.  Cards must be sleeved, but what about cards that are not in the deck proper, e.g. missions, locations, characters, etc.?  (Never played competitively, so I've no idea of the standard.

2.  To be clear, the only difference for the max 6 is the team can't have a printed grid above 6, correct?

Jack

Only the deck is required to be sleeved, other cards do not have to be.

Max 6 is the regular game but the characters on your team cannot have a 7 or 8 in their grid.
This implies that Beyonder, Tiffany, Captain Mar-Vell and Reyes are allowed. The battlesite, if any, do not apply to these restrictions.

Does anyone know whichhotels are nearest the mission?  If anyone is staying in a particular hotel, let me know which one and I will book a room there.

The tournaments in Buffalo are coming up very quickly, just over two weeks left!

Please make sure you confirm your registration by either posting a reply or sending me an e-mail: jack@overpower.ca. Details about the tournament can be found by going to the first post in this topic.

DiceK

Jack, what is the standing total for the main event?

I'm totally stoked.  You guys are gonna make fun of me for not knowing all the rules.  My first round opponent will probably pull his hair out. :P

FYI: Most of the Canadian Contingent will be staying at the Homewood Suites Buffalo-Airport. We have the large suite. If you're in the same hotel, or at least near by, let us know!

Live streaming is a  MUST here Jack. Probably biggest OP tournament in the last 10 years. We absolutely MUST have a live stream. With your technical know how and computer knowledge I know you can make it happen. I will watch the entire thing.

Questions:
Can I have more info on the DC tournament?

Also can you bring your own food and drink to the tournament? If not well there be any sold on site?

Jack

Not much is known about it, but I'm going to assume the non-bracketed players will be each given one sealed DC deck and then play a mini tournament.

Food/drink should be allowed, we're going to have a breakfast on Saturday morning but that's all for the provided food. Not sure of the surrounding areas for lunch during the 80 minute break.

I don't live that far from the mission. I'm hoping to make it next week but it may be unlikely due to work obligations (my place of employment is in the midst of a transfer, so I've been putting in a lot of overtime to ensure the deadlines are met).

Just to clear something up mentioned earlier in the thread regarding the mission being a homeless shelter: That information is false. The mission is not a homeless shelter, it's actually a religious center for children that offers a variety of activities and services.

The Peacebridge event coming up next week is actually the first event that has been scheduled by those outside of the mission; I know this because I called to inquire about the availability and capacity of the mission for a possible non-OverPower related event in the near future. The mission essentially has two rooms; one large room and a smaller room and it has amenities such as bathroom, etc.

For those not staying at the mission for the night, be careful when leaving after 11pm. It's not a warzone by any stretch of the imagination and you shouldn't worry, but just use common sense and you should be fine.

More information about  the DC tournament, I figured it would be as such but avoided speculation:
Quote from: Larry Van EttenAlso, the Saturday tourney (optional) will be a DC starter deck tourney.
Single elimination. The winner of each battle wins the others deck. They can use the additional cards to build a new deck each round. The game goes until there is only one winner - who gets all the cards.

Also, Larry is interesting in buying cards and you should contact him prior to the tournament to negotiate a price.
