Chuu's Custom Comic Babe Cards

I always find it hard as to what specials to give a character, and I'm not very good at the "vanilla gorillas) mentioned on other threads, but here goes....
I'd love to see her get a negate, but I think that would make her too strong, so how about:

Empathic Absorption - some form of AL, remove (special or power card) hit from self (and/or) teammate.  Or possibly a CA similar to Mystique's Mistaken Identity would fit the ability as well.

Emotional Outburst - AI, similar to Scarlet Witch's Spontaneous Combustion

Pacifist Heart - NN, similar to Hulk's Savage, but only allowing NON-attack specials (attack specials may not be played)

While the pictures don't necessarily match up with any of these specials, they seem generic enough to use justa 'bout any trait you'd care to assign.
Justa shootin' from the hip, here.  If at least 1 of these ideas help, I'll feel like I accomplished something.

I definately think that giving her a negate would make her too powerful, which isn't a bad thing since all the characters in my set are overpowered, but what it does is make chossing specials to put in the deck so much harder.

Definately thinking of a heal, also thinking of a KL OR AI card.  I was also thinking of a reverse NN!! LOL...thinking KL, AI and reverse NN

I liked the idea of a KL, but couldn't find a way to match it with her powers.  Your way works great.
My own hang up now is that her empathic powers don't show on the card names, and her "Soul Self" is the Inter-dimensional Traveller.  Maybe mix it up to have Soul Self be the KL, and have Empathic Response be the AS, or even a DY OPD that "acts as any hit in teammates' PR".  That would give the hurt back as much as has been taken, and wouldn't be subject to icon discard specials & events.
But you are the maker, so the final choices are yours.

I've updated the Raven post.  In my research I found that her soul self is how she inflicts the most Energy type damage on opponents so left that.  Made her NN an OPD as I think it's more of a lock down than Savage is.

Not sure I agree with OPD on the reverse NN, but I haven't play-tested it, so I bow to your decision.
I really like the new picture you used for the AI, better than the "masked" picture that was there.

The reason I thought to make the Reverse NN an OPD is because in any given game 2/3 of the specials in your hand will be attacks and 1/3 will be defense.  Reverse NN shut down attack decks while regular NN annoys defense decks...that's just my opinion.  I would love for people to play test it, but i don't see it happening....

Up next is Lara Croft.  I'm really happy with the way she came out.  Some of the card names are a little weak in my opinion based on other characters but I wanted to finish her off.  I think I must have spent like 10 hours going through comics and other image sources only to find that in the end I only ended a book that I looked at in the beginning...lol.

Excellently done, chuu!  Well worthy of your "Babe" cards.  The triple conditional draws (2 World Explorers + Behind Cover) could make her a venture nightmare depending on the team.
I could never decide if F should be 7 or 6, and if I should be 5 or 6.

Beast Killer is beast!  takes out activators, MPPCs & more.  On a team w/o AO user or Bastion has already come & gone Venture 7!  NIce cards! btw thanks for a fighter at 17 that has a sweet suite of specials!

i gave her 7 fighting but would place her on the lower end of the spectrum where characters like deadpool would be on the upper part of the spectrum.  From what i've seen, she's very good at using her environment to aid in combat and has formal training from martial arts masters.  For intellect I would place her on the higher part of the intellegence spectrum for level 5 characters but still wanted her to have an inherent.  Beast Killer is an EY, New Warriors have one for Strength and Kazaar has one for energy.  But ya, it's a lethal card if it doesn't get negated..

Next up is The Magdalena (5-7-3-3) right now I'm not sure how many specials I'll be able to create based on the images that I have found.  She's only been in around 50 issues and 25% of those are cartoony or black and white...meh..might just have to go with all posed shots which I don't like doing that..

like i said previously, i could never decide myself.  but i don't see why a 2636 couldn't get an IA.  plenty of other characters with 2 6s got IAs in the legacy cards.  though 2735 is probably better for teaming with your other characters.

i'm kinda bummed on the picture availability for Magdalena, but i wouldn't want you to lower your standards justa because of a request on this end.  good luck whichever way you go.

I like the work you're doing Chuu. The art editing looks great. Most of it looks like it could have been part of the original official game. The two character cards that stick out as not fitting in, for me, would be Angelus and Voodoo. They stray from the "no black outlines" and "only XXX character is in the card image" setup.

I don't have as much play experience as most Overpower players still around, and I am not one for mechanics crunching. So I can't speak for how balanced the specials and grids are. But for the most part they fit the feel of the characters you have been designing. The aesthetics mesh with the mechanical aspect and the art well.

I mentioned this elsewhere, and I'll likely continue to suggest it to other card designers: If you are having trouble play testing these, or just want to make them more easily accessible to people, you may want to consider contacting Picks-At-Flies. He made a plugin for Overpower with LackeyCCG. You might be able to work with him to get your cards into the plugin so people can play with them online.

I'd also like to help you with art hunting for cards. Since you're currently working on the Magdalena here are some of my more noteworthy findings:

This may work if you wanted to have a special relating to the Magdalena's early relationship to the Inquisition. Patiance has begun to move away from the Church, discovering truths they are unwilling to accept.

The Spear of Destiny acts as a conduit for the Magaadena's faith. True Faith, more so that fanatic fervor. These image shows the Spear lighting up and could be used for a more supernatural related special.

Descended from Mary Magdalen, wielding the Spear that pierced Christ's side and ended his mortal life. These could be a useful image if you wanted to touch on that aspect of the Magdalena somehow.

That last one has Patience duking it out with some guys from the Inquisition. Might not want to use that if you're using the other Inquisition picture as a means of showing them on her side acting as subordinates. Two different points in the character's development.

The Magdalena may reveal a person's sins and her blood may perform miracles, including reforging the Spear of Destiny should it ever be damaged. I haven't found any pictures where either of these explicitly take place. But here are some images that note a religious connection that may be useful in expressing these kind of abstracts.

There was also a neat picture with a statue of a previous member of the Magdalena line in a church that I would have liked to share. Found it last night, but couldn't rediscover it.

The Spear of Destiny is the same as mentioned in stories of the Spear of Longinus and the Spear of Lugn. Here is an image that touches on this, if you wanted to note that in a special somehow.

Wow! thanks for all the help Urborg! I'm glad to see that someone wants to see more babe specials   One thing though, I have found all my images for Magdalena, and should have already posted her cards already but i've been lazy/busy.  I'll try to get them posted tonight or tomorrow night.  Looks like alot of the images that we found are the same, so you won't be dissapointed Urborg.  Once I downloaded all the comics she's been in I was able to find alot of images...
