Image Booster Box

The last sealed box of image that sold on eBay was around 550. 

That was also the only one in the last 2 years.

A store that ran tournaments I played in back in the day ordered 6 CASES and got only 2 BOXES.

So yes, they were and are extremely rare.

It seems like it's either the entire booster box or nothing.  I cant remember the last time I saw single booster packs anywhere.

If you have cash to blow, it's definitely not a bad price, considering what you're (practically) guaranteed to get.  If I had a few friends to chip in, I'd definitely pick it up.

So sometime tomorrow I should have the Image box in my hands....  do I open what may be one of the last remaining sealed boxes?  I have many needs in my Image collection and the box will most likely not fill them.   

But on the other hand this is an item that will likely never gain much in value, sure it is valued now that all of us who played this game in our youth are now adults who can afford to indulge in some nostalgia but almost no one will be looking for this in another 20 years....   or I could be wrong.

There's nothing like cracking open a pack of Overpower cards....  what to do?  what to do?

Any suggestions from all of you?

My suggestion: $1 raffles for sealed packs.

I have both sealed image packs and a lot of image singles.  If you wanted to try and work out a trade, you may be able to get the best of both worlds.  I can tell you that you are almost certainly correct in that opening the box will not fill out your want list if it has more than a couple very rares on it.

I've been in the same position and I've traded sealed packs (where I don't know what's in them) for single rare cards, as I know I'm getting a for-sure thing and giving up an unknown. 

If you like the mystique of the sealed box, that's awesome, but you are right about its value.  If I'm in your shoes, I'm trading unknowns for knowns, if that makes sense.  Still, ultra-jealous that you got your hands on it.

I recorded my Image booster opening. Not as exciting as I thought it would be. Live stream would be awesome if you have the right setup.

I just wanted to put this out there:  If you need someone to take some of the booster packs off of your hands, I'm willing (albeit begrudgingly) to trade you some Level 1 Fighting or Strength Power Cards from the Original OP set for them.

I know, I know, I'm OBVIOUSLY making a sacrifice here, but you know what?  Sometimes you have to be the bigger man, right?
