"missing" characters

Remember how bummed you were when they stopped making OP cards, and characters like Lizard, Abomination, etc (who were PROMISED on locations) never came out?  (I know I was!)  These "missing" characters have been among the most popular for homemade card makers to create over the years since (not counting the Image ones).

But after cataloging the homemade cards I've seen posted over the years on this site and many others, I was disturbed to find the same thing happening with homemade cards!  With the original, it worked as a promotional tool, to try to maintain interest in "what was to come".  (Even though it never did.)  I suppose its the same for some "makers", like OP3 (who I hope continues to share his work) and justabikid (who I hope is well, and that someday Chris will get to post all the work that was near completion when he "went dark").

Many other "makers" created locations containing characters (or clones or variants) that were not "in the game" (character card AND usable specials, whether their own or some one else's) that I have never been able find.  Why create a homemade location & not make the character/clone/variant that you included?  So where the Custom Card board on the forum has been pretty slow for a while (except for breadmaster with the UE set, much thank's to the Master of "Pain" [en francais, s'il vous plait]), I thought I'd post a "wish" list of the missing characters.

My request for the OP community is for you to give me feedback if you have seen any of these posted that I have missed, or if you have any of these homemades that you could post (no matter how low quality!), or even just have ideas for a particular character.  I may make some eventually, but I greatly value community input.

Comments on list:  Some are different versions of existing characters, but the names don't match up with any locations (e.g. Norman Osborn/Green Goblin, Flash: Golden Age/Jay Garrick).  Some in the list are the same character (e.g. Cassie Sandmark/Wonder Girl, Donna Troy/Troia).  Some may be better known under other names (e.g. Apparition was Phantom Girl).  Some I already took a whack at but never posted because at that time my homemades looked really crappy (e.g. Spectre because I had found several character cards and really liked the character, Destroyer in my failed at a Heralds of Galactus set).  I may someday recreate these to be better looking to post in the future.  Some may even be on someone's drawing board.

So, anybody got any info or ideas?

thanks, chuu.  i will eagerly await.  i think you mentioned on the other thread that you might take a try at Cassie, too.  (I'd be psyched at Dawn, too, but she isn't involved in this thread.)

i think Raven is long overdue.  i was a little surprised that she wasn't on the Titan's Tower location someone made.  DC's magic side seems a little under-represented.

if you google image search 'norman Osborn overpower' the second image leads to a guy who has a ton of customs (most are redone characters)

I have Hal Jordon (i believe from Bios as well as others), and also a set for Jay Garrick, as well as Flash: Jay Garrick (from - old).  I was hoping on those to match the variants on the locations, i.e. Flash: GA, Green Lantern: GA, & Hal Jordan: GL.  justa pet peeve, to be able to have the right character/variant to fill out the particular homemade location.  the image you reference leads to OP3's deviant art pages.  he had the Special for Norman to differentiate between identities who were Green Goblin, as i understand it.  he has a Green Goblin: Norman Osborn, but not a Norman Osborn variant.  i supposed substitutions could be allowed, like Green Gob for Normy, but, well.....

Hey guys!  I know I've been gone a while (life stuff gets in the way of hobbies sometimes).  But I've been working fastidiously on my DC core set for the past few months and should have some new stuff posted soon.  As to Justa's requests, I will say Winter Soldier will definitely be included in my next Marvel set since he's already on my revised Helicarrier location, and my DC core set does include Cassie as Wonder Girl and Hal Jordan.  Expect a couple of the others on your list down the road.

as i understand it (and used to play for house rules), variants can be used in place of "base" characters listed on locations, but base characters can't be used when a particular variant is listed.  so your Winter Soldier:  BB would work better than the Bucky Barnes: WS that adam made.  I realize none of this is really applicable to your reboot, as you are (correctly!) separating them out to "character" and "identity".

Ya, that's right.  If I do a WWII era Bucky, you wouldn't be able to use him on the Helicarrier because it specifically states Winter Soldier.
