I really like your cards (even though I'm not vocal about it :) ), as always great work!

Might be nitpicking but I noticed a small error on Expediter's Mithras Directive. In your post, you name that card as Directive, and the card's text also refers to it as Directive, but the name on the card itself is Mithras Prophecy. Was rather confusing at first since I thought it was referencing another card which I couldn't find.

Anyways, continue the great work!
I one day hope to be able to do great custom work like you guys do!

Thank you. And i appreciate the proofreading, i fixed that but forgot to upload it. It should be fixed in the original post now.

One more for today, a fondly remembered part of my childhood reading. I still remember being all excited when he appeared in the early X-Force and was the new Weapon X. I liked his character a lot and they developed him well in his relationship with Cable. Then the 2000s Weapon X stories made him this heartless cyborg killer. I'm still working on his specials, I probably undervalued his Energy but i'm going to put that in a special or two.
Kane      4   7   6   2   19

justa

glad you mentioned fixing Mithras - I wouldn't have known to check it otherwise.
a few other typos:  for A&N's Gestalt, you left out the first "t" on the card name.  for Gen X's Chamber, i', pretty sure the code should be BM, not BS.
other thoughts:
I like the title "Precog Monty" - cool.
Bevatron sounds like the latest drink dispenser on the market
Expediter & X-23 I've seen done, and your depiction is as good as any I've seen.
Aurora & NorthStar - similar to what you did with Cloak & Dagger, and Avalanche & Pyro.  I still don't care for the format, but they sure have a nice spread of Specials.  seems to work well.
White Queen: Diamond Form - I would have thought she'd stay at 17 points, but I guess the 8S for defense makes up for that.
Mass. Academy - still trying to get those training cards in there.  I find I like the determination, even though I still dislike the cards.

between you and Arctursa, I've started working on some DC characters of my own.  should have them up within the next month.
looking good, Fenn.

Oooh! Can't wait to see them.

The Bevatron 3000!  It always makes me think of a fair ride. To true, always plugging the Basic Universe and Training cards. Fixed the errors, thanks for catching, will update the links soon.

I forgot something on Kane's Character card so I'll just post everything here.

I may have had a little goofy fun at Kane's expense. But anyone that has rocket hands and appears with Deadpool should be a little goofy.
Kane      4   7   6   2   19
May be included on a team with Department H as a Homebase.

Kane    Cyborg Enhancements
Acts as a level 7 Energy attack.

Kane    More Machine Than Man
For remainder of game, cards on Kane's Hits to Current Battle with Energy or Fighting icons do not count towards Opponent's Venture Total.

Kane    Need A Hand
Acts as a level 6 Fighting attack. If successful, Opponent must discard their entire Hand and replace with same number of cards from Draw Pile. Discard duplicates.

Kane    Shield
Kane may avoid any numerical attack.

Kane    We Can Rebuild Him
Remove up to 2 hits from Kane's Permanent Record.

Kane    Weapon X
Kane's team's Basic Universe cards used to attack Count toward Damage and Venture Total for remainder of game.

EDIT:
I decided to leave him as a 6-7. Finished up a set of specials for him.

Fantomex   Big Entrance
Acts as a level 4 Strength attack, may be played from Reserve. If successful, Fantomex may continue to attack while in Reserve.

Fantomex   E.V.A.
Avoid 1 attack.

Fantomex   Sentient Ammo
Acts as a level 7 Energy or Fighting attack. Attack not affected by Special cards already in play.

Fantomex   Tri-Parallel Processing
Acts as a level 3 Intellect attack. May make 2 additional attacks at +2. Bonus not applied to damage, or Venture Total.

Fantomex   Voleur
Sort through opponent's Draw Pile. Choose any 1 card and remove it from game. Reshuffle Draw Pile.

Fantomex   Weapon XIII
Play during battle. For remainder of game, any Intellect attack made by Fantomex may not be moved from Target Character.

justa

Kane's not too goofy.   The Weapon X card is the only one I don't care for.  (Wonder why?)
on Fantomex, the only version I've seem is a character card (no Specials) at 7755.  so whatever you did, I knew it would be different.  cool depiction.
Big Entrance has an extra "e" in the card title.

Me and my spelling. I checked it but forgot to change it on the card. Thank you.

Three for tonight. I had the worst time figuring out an inherent for this card. I sat down to look at the list of locations tonight, first on the list, Age of Apocalypse... "Hey that works, combines with what i did for Cameron Hodge too."  Problem solved. It's not a high grid team or awesome selection of Specials team either, so they got a nice Aspect card.
Genosha
Cameron Hodge
Havok
Rictor
Storm
Warlock
Wolfsbane
Genosha Team +2 to Venture Total per battle if using "X-Tinction Agenda" Mission with at least 1 Event card.

Genosha   Magistrates
Negates the effect of any 1 Special card played by opponent.

Splintered Realms   D'Spayre
Acts as a level 5 Intellect attack, +1 for each Mission card in opponent's  Defeated Missions Pile.

Weapon X Compound
Agent Zero
Aurora
Kane
Marrow
Sabretooth
Sauron
Artifact cards "Super Soldier Serum" and "Adamantium" may be played on any Weapon X Compound teammate regardless of requirements.

Weapon X Compound   Director Colcord
Acts as a level 5 Intellect attack. If successful, Weapon X Compound team is +2 to all Power card attacks against Target Character for remainder of battle.

Agent Zero      5   8   3   3   19
May play any Maverick Special Cards.

Agent Zero   Corrosive Anti Regenerant
Acts as a level 4 Energy attack. If successful, this hit may never be removed or switched to another character.

EDIT: Also fixed the spelling on Big Entrance.

Finally got enough art to put this one together.

Rictor      7   4   3   3   17
Rictor's attacks with an Energy icon made against Opponent's Battlesite count towards Venture total for remainder of game.

Rictor   Earthquake
Target Battlesite must discard 1 Placed card chosen at random.

Rictor   On The Run
Avoid 1 attack. Rictor may not be attacked for remainder of battle.

Rictor   Seismic Shockwave
Acts as a level 7 Any-Power attack. +3 when used to attack a Battlesite. Bonus counts toward damage.

Rictor   Shake It Up
Acts as a level 4 Energy attack. May make 1 additional attack.

Rictor   Vibratory Attack
Acts as a level 6 Energy attack. May be used against Battlesite. If used against Battlesite, damage counts toward Venture total.

Rictor   X-Factor Investigations
Rictor may look at top 6 cards in opponent's Draw Pile.

Also.... She may not get any specials for a while. I'm waiting for some Excalibur graphic novels to search for some art for her specials.
Cerise      6   6   5   3   20
Power cards are +1 when used for defense and may be included on a team with Chandrilar as a Homebase.

justa

I was going to ask about Genosha, but you ended up doing Rictor after all.  (he is a better choice than Warpath.)  I like that one.
For Weapon X Compound, shouldn't it be Aurora & NorthStar?  Unless you have plans to do her as a single instead of a twin-team.  Super Soldier Serum only bring the 4th up to 7 (assuming Agent Zero, Kane, & Sabretooth).
Agent Zero - thought it was going to be a different version of Nord, but it's just a a remake of Maverick with an extra Special card.  not sure what I was expecting.....
nice job on Rictor - battlesite destruction.  very thematic.
again, nice work Fenn.

fennshysa

Thanks!
In my head, I've never formalized anything for the double characters, as long as something references one of the characters of the duo it can target the duo. I only listed Aurora because she was the only one there and the whole duo card wouldn't fit on one line anyway. As to the Aspects, I had no good idea and was just trying to pick something thematic.

I wanted the location to say Agent Zero since that's what he was going by when he was there. In fact at first you had no idea he was Maverick. If i remember correctly.  I could probably have just added Maverick and made Agent Zero a Special for Maverick but i wanted it to be thematic. So I made him even though he has the same stats. I just made the special to reflect his upgraded abilities from the Weapon X program (well really i just had the idea for the mechanic when i read a description of his extra power and had to add it).

I think i may also have enough art to add X-Cutioner as another character. I'm working on him now. And after reading some of the X-Factor books when working on Rictor, I'm going to add an X-Factor Investigation location also (which may eventually necessitate a complete Character set for M eventually.)

justa

In the "New Homebases" thread, Oscorp suggested X-Factor Investigations as:

Multiple Man
Strong Guy
Longshot
Quicksilver
Marrow
Callisto

May use intellect power cards to avoid any numerical attack.

I'm not sure how they came up with the line-up.  But I did a version of Pip among my Infinity Watch/GotG characters.
justa sayin' for informational purposes...

fennshysa

The Marrow and Callisto must have been farther on down the line of stories. I'm going to go with
M
Multiple Man
Rictor
Siryn
Strong Guy
Wolfsbane
It is a fairly under powered team and I like the idea of a bonus for Intellect cards on defense. I may trim that down a little though. Intellect to avoid any attack for the entire team is pretty powerful.

Of all the characters introduced in the Marvel 93 Annuals this guy was the coolest. He managed to stick around for some appearances over the next few years. He had a good story and great design. Even though he was a 'bad guy' he almost wasn't. More of a Punisher.
X-Cutioner          7   5   4   4   20
+1 to all Power card attacks vs. Target Character for each of Target Character's Specials in X-Cutioner's team's Permanent Record.

X-Cutioner   Balancing The Scales
Target Character's Team is -10 to Venture total this battle.

X-Cutioner   Mutant X-Cutioner
Acts as a level 4 Strength attack. If Target Character is K.O.'d by this Hit, X-Cutioner may move 1 Mission card from the Defeated Pile to the Completed Pile.

X-Cutioner   Scavenged Battle Armor
Avoid 1 attack.

X-Cutioner   Shi'ar Power Lance
Acts as a level 4 Energy attack. May make 1 additional attack.

X-Cutioner   Teleportation Device
Acts as a level 6 Intellect attack. May be played while X-Cutioner is in Reserve.

X-Cutioner   Z'Nox Energy Sword
Acts as a level 6 Energy attack. If successful, opponent must discard one Tactic card. Card may be Placed or in play.

on XFI, keep in mind all of the characters of low in intellect.  maybe only once per battle to lighten it up?   your lineup looks good (but no Pip   :'()
on X-Cutioner, I liked the story, but the look was a little strange.  it did make sense, though.  the Z'Nox Energy Sword should be FP, not FG.  and the Battle Armor special is a good example of when text Should be left in the art work.  nice touch.
justa 'nuther new one amongst a whole slew of them.  welcome to OP, X-C.

fennshysa

I really had no idea why you were talking about Pip. I had to look that one up.

Once per battle might work

justa

Pip the Troll, from the Infinity Watch.  I mentioned him 2 posts ago.

fennshysa

I just didn't realize how he factored into X-Factor Investigations. I've only read the first couple collections that are on Comixology Unlimited. Considering how much more of a Marvel Fan I am I'm thinking i should go for the Marvel Unlimited instead. I'd really like to finish this set out in my mind but i keep coming up with more to add to it. One for tonight. I revisited the Exiles series i used to love so much. So......

To go along with my Exiles cards from the Marvels set.....  Nocturne will hopefully be forthcoming if i can get enough source art for her.
Thunderbird   Horseman Of Apocalypse   3   6   8   3   20
May be included on a team with Panoptichron as a Homebase.

Justa, I have been distracted by Marvel once again. Looks like I won't be competing with you for DC characters for a while. I really need to finish this X-Men set and the Avengers set up. Then i'm thinking about a few more Marvel sets (actually I've already started them). A Marvel Knights set with Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Howard The Duck, Man Thing and quite a few more. Including Nextwave characters because every time I read that series it gets funnier and funnier. (The Captain is almost done.) A Champions set with all the new characters and Gwenpool. I just read that whole series, Awesome! (Definitely planning a Fourth Wall location with Gwenpool, Deadpool, Slapstick, She-Hulk, Howard The Duck and ?????? [suggestions?]). And some Hulk leftovers; Maestro and the Red Hulks. And a small Spider-Man set. Miles, Gwen, Morlun, Vulture, and Sandman for sure.

justa

fen - please keep in mind:  I will NOT compete with you or anyone else on characters from any source.  i'm justa havin' some fun, throwing an occasional new idea out here & there while adding a few new characters to the game (that probably no one will ever use).  my focus on DC characters lately (and over a year & a half ago) is because DC has been under-represented in OP, and low hanging fruit was available.

there is SO much material from all the publishers that I have never actually read, only read about (if that even).  [example, who were the other 3 horsemen with Thunderbird? - I need to look that one up!]  every time you or someone else puts up a character I haven't seen, I learn a little more about the areas of the world of comics that I have not wandered into or fully explored.  one of the reasons why OP has been a great hobby to carry into retirement.

alas, my next group of cards may be delayed for a while.  i'm having a hard time dealing out the mechanics for specials and finding better art to use for a few.  the reasons are life/fire related, and I won't waste anybody's time detailing them here.  someday - meanwhile, life goes on...
and OP LIVES!
