Well, a month or so ago I had a Atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Gameboy SP, DS Lite,  Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PS3, X-Box, and a X-Box 360.

Unfortunately bills needed to be paid. So, now I only have the NES, N64, DS Lite, 360 and PS3. I'll be the first to admit. I teared up a little.
I'm polymerized tree sap and you're an inorganic adhesive, so whatever verbal projectile you launch in my direction is reflected off of me, returns on its original trajectory and adheres to you.

I know those pains, my friend  :'(

Hmm...

Soul Calibur
Crazy Taxi
SFIII Third Strike
MvC2
Ikaruga

I honestly could have made the entire top 5 all fighting games, but I threw Crazy Taxi and Ikaruga in there cuz I did log ridiculouse hours into those. DC was your system if you wanted fighters, though. I loved me some Power Stone as well. That's it, I'm busting the DC out today :p

Quote from: Onslaught on April 09, 2011, 10:22:16 PMSpeaking of MvC2, has anyone been playing MvC3? It's not as good as 2, but then again few games are. It made me think about what kind of promotional stuff they would be able to do if Overpower still existed, like some promo cards as a bonus for pre-ordering the video game. It would be a cool tie-in since you could use the official art from MvC3, name the special cards after things they say during a match, etc...

How baller would that be? MvC3 is actually the main game I'm playing right now. It's also actually the game that got me back into Overpower, through conversations about Marvel while speculating on how the game would turn out. Yeah, it's no MvC2, but it's tons of fun IMO. I'm on PS3 as SketchKoopa.

Wow, that's a lot of love for the Dreamcast.  I never played it myself but my friends have.  And from what I understand, they system only died because of Sony working so hard to kill it.  The joke was on them when the X-Box actually took market share and is now out-selling their current system.  So, ha ha.  But anyway, I do like the look of some of the Dreamcast games, but right now I have the Wii and I don't think I want to try to add another console to my TV until I get one with more inputs.  I am quite happy with all the eras of gaming I have on the Wii anyway.  In a fun twist I have been playing Final Fantasy IV:  The After Years which is retro gaming with a brand new game.  That's just delightful.  Actually though, the game is full of problems but I'm willing to forgive them for the chance to see my favorite FF characters back for more fun.

My friends and I like to joke that Shenmue single handedly killed the Dreamcast :P. Good game, but $70 million in production with bad sales, and you got yourself a bankruptcy.

Dreamcast pioneered a lot, though. One of the first consoles with a modem, the VMU, games that routinely benchmarked graphics (Shenmue, Soul Calibur, Jet Set Radio). I think it might have been the first to display 60 frames/second. too. /fanboy

I haven't owned any Sega systems most of my life.  I got a Genesis about ten years or so ago, but I didn't keep that long.  Emulating the games just made so much more sense.  When I was a kid it was Nintendo, Super Nintendo and then in 2001 I got a Playstation so I could play FFVII, FFIX, and FF Tactics.  In fact, most of my gaming time is spread between Final Fantasy games and Mario games.  Although I did play a lot of Double Dragon II, Gradius, and Guardian Legend as well.

Speaking of videogames, my brother and I have hammered out MGSOP, including Hero and Specials for Solid Snake, Otacon, Meryl, Raiden, and Cyborg Ninja (with 3 variants). We also worked out their own set of Any Hero cards =]

We also kicked around tons of OP versions of various Final Fantasy characters. He also made/printed a Link Hero with Specials.

I'll have to post it all in the Homemade section when I have some free time...

I've always thought the Overpower format is so translatable to other types of characters.  It really would be a good format for the first truly universal CCG.  You even have the opportunity to make the power types mean something else for different characters while still maintaining consistency with the overall game format.

For sure. My wife bribes me occasionally by saying she'll learn to play Overpower if I agree to such-and-such. One time we even went so far as to discuss other Homemade characters she'd enjoy. Some of the notables:
Indiana Jones
Rainbow Bright
Care Bears
Phineas & Ferb
Jem
She-Ra

Lol. I definitely think Phineas & Ferb offer the most creativity. Their Grid would have to be something like 4-2-2-8 (only because they can't be 1-1-1-8). They can and do, literally build whatever they want (and in a single day!), so I could get really, really creative there  ;D

I could also see an entire expansion based on He-Man and She-Ra.  Also, hugs should count towards venture so long as they are not made on a battlesite.  That would just be weird.  Unless it is Krakoa.  He needs a hug.

Xbox 360- Puzzle Quest

No other online game was more like a CCG for me. I had to have an intervention, I sold my 360 because I couldn't stop playing. I had to keep playing to maintain my #1 spot on the leader board.

I also have a bunch of emulators on my Droid X.  I can play NES, SNES, GB, GBA, Genesis, and Playstation games.
