New Homebases

I've decided to make 2 new Homebases - because I like nostalgia and because some of these characters need to be on another Homebase *coughgambitcough*

X-Men Blue Strike Force
Cyclops
Beast
Gambit
Psylocke
Rogue
Wolverine
Jubilee*

X-Men Gold Strike Force
Storm
Jean Grey
Archangel
Iceman
Colossus
Bishop

They will each have a their own version of this Aspect:
"For remainder of Game, X-men (Blue/Gold) Strike Force team's Front Line Characters may use Power cards to defend teammates."

Now I just need work on Inherent Abilities. I'd like something playing into their team-based mentalities. Seems like the +/- to Teamwork cards is a little played out with some of the other Homebases, though (not that I'm against using an existing I.A. for them). I'd also like the I.A. to be different for each team, as they definitely have different strengths in their line-ups. Ideas?

* I realize she makes 7, but I couldn't leave her off, could I? Suggestions, preferrably supported by canon, would be appreciated here.

Some ideas I'd kicked around before -

X-Men Blue - taking Jubilee out of the line-up and having this Inherent Ability:

"X-Men Blue may play any Jubilee Special cards. May not include duplicates in deck. May not use a Battlesite or Any Hero cards."

Essentially, it's taking Jubilee's pool of Special cards and making them replacement Any Hero cards. I've actually played this before, and I think I like it, but I'm looking for more suggestions and feedback is welcome.

X-Men Gold -
"X-Men Gold may use Universe Teamwork cards to Confuse any Teamwork card attacks."

Essentially, this would let me play TW cards as a DB-coded Special - so they would work the same as Confusion. I've actually playtested this one too, and it seemed to be really good, but maybe too strong.

"Even comics arent' as much fun as OverPower."

Kyle

Providence Island

Cable
Deadpool
Domino
Silver Surfer
Captain America
Cyclops

Inherent - Providence Island Team may use Tactic Doubleshot cards, with normal contribution, to avoid any attack.

Take that, Avenger's Mansion.  ;)

The X-Men Blue IA isnt' bad. The Gold one is annoying has heck!
I'm polymerized tree sap and you're an inorganic adhesive, so whatever verbal projectile you launch in my direction is reflected off of me, returns on its original trajectory and adheres to you.

if you're looking for canon homebases for jubilee, there could be the 'x-men: reserves' from that same blue/gold era

Professor X
Banshee
Forge
Jubilee

need 2 more characters, but those 4 make a nifty E/I deck.  a good inherent and aspect could really make it sing.

wasn't white queen hanging out in the mansion in a coma at this time?  throw her in

You could take the first half of the FF Plaza "For each Value of 4 or less on Character's Power Grid, Character's Power cards are +1 to defense." Or take Stark Enterprises "For every Value of 3 or less on Character's Power Grid, that Character may not be Cumulative KO'd by that Power Type."

I don't think Jubilee needs any help finding a new home  :P
Actually, though, it was the same thought of her always being around, although seldom really "deployed" that gave me the idea of her Specials becoming pseudo-Any Heroes. That, and the fact that she was the 7th member, coming onto the team late, and has the weakest grid  ;D

I like these a lot. That is my favorite X-men era (more due to nostalgia than quality I'll admit).

I get an evil grin thinking about this deck.  The power of being able to use a KO event and STILL have your 4 heroes is HUGE! I'd like to playtest it first but I think this of all your sites is worth a make... I would love to see some good X-Mansion tombstone art...

The Dude

I will say one thing I've done is made variants of existing homebases, even if the original inherant isn't so good I keep it and just change the hero line-up.

I originally did this for Avengers Mansion (classic team: cap, thor, iron man, hawkeye, vision and scarlet witch) and (cap's kooky quartet: Cap, hawkeye, quicksilver, scarlet witch, henry pym, wasp) and Sanctum Sanctorum to make a Defenders deck but over time I've ended up with six versions of X-Mansion (classic team (the claremont lineup circa Dark Phoenix saga), Whedon's astonishing x-men, x-men the movie, mutant school, and even a new one for First Class the day after that movie came out (Pro x, magneto, mystique, havok, banshee, beast) as well as a danger room variant for x-men the animated series and an outback variant that replaced reavers and sentinels with actual x-men who lived in the desert. (I have several outer space variants as well) It does make it easier with forging real comic teams without the muss and fuss of making new inherants and aspects.

BIOS - I love it when you post the actual card.  Much better than just reading about people's ideas.  Great Work!

Bios

A tribute to OSCORP's idea...

Someone should run a test play!

Oscorp

That's amazing Bios.   Thanks for putting the effort into making my silly idea a reality.

Hope to hook up for some online games again in the future!
