My theory with huge deck sizes is that is only hurts in time-limited games -- your OPDs/events might not show up within the time limit. For casual play, huge decks would benefit if you still have specials/teamworks/etc against your opponent's power cards and placed cards. Of course, it doesn't quite work out that nicely if your opponent can win a game by hand 4 but that's what KK cards are for.

KK cards?

And by absolutely no means did I mean to suggest an oversized deck for tournament play.  But they could be fun for casual games.  :D

     * UNIVERSAL ALIGNMENT (KK) <CL> {R} [OPD]
        Play during battle. Both players move all Mission cards to Reserve
            Missions Pile. Mission cards Ventured this battle are now Ventured
            from Reserve Missions Pile.

^ is a KK card, basically the "reset missions card".

For casual games, I've yet to put a deck to my words and try it out but I'm really tempted to see how well it plays out assuming I don't get crushed by the 4th hand.

Demacus

If you are on OPO, I'll build a massively oversized deck to play against ya.  lol We should set a new minimum if you really want to try it out though.  :D

Looking at the book further.. they actually said to use 46 power cards (including twelve 7's) in one of the decks for a total of 84 cards in a deck

Apocalypse was supposed to get a card called "Energy Heal" in Power Surge, I wonder what that would've been.

The strategy guide even talks about placing all 8 cards, venturing 1 and conceding and hoping to not get dupes in the next hand (with their power cards.. unlikely).

The guide is also written in the voice of the characters which is pretty impossible to interpret. It's kinda like chat-speak but not.

12 7s  :o

But I am intrigued by the concept of placing all 8 cards, conceding, and praying  ;) that you don't get dupes.....it could be fun to do at least once in a friendly.....
Beta Ray Bill makes a WHOLE lot more sense at Avengers Mansion than Beyonder showing up and helping out during a fight. - breadmaster

I was aiming to get this for my collection:
Quote* WOLVERINE FIGHTING 6 PROTOTYPE CARD  {R}
     Level 6 Fighting Power card with word "Fighting" along both sides under
         icons and the character name "Wolverine" on bottom left corner
    WHERE IT WAS AVAILABLE: Ventura Magazine Vol. 2, #2 (Mar./Apr. 1996);
      OverPower Legion insert, Monthly Venture No. 5 (November 1996)
But unfortunately, after purchasing and examining the magazine, the card isn't there at all.

I did, however, pick up something awesome:

This is the other sheet, it looks very nice and it was very expensive to pick up (more than what I wanted to pay).

Just curious, how much they were asking for the sheet?

I got another batch of goodies, sealed OverPower original starters with Japanese rulebook. 6 of them. And one more that was open.

Just a quick glance without doing any translation shows that the rulebook is a straight translation (and likely simplified) of the original rulebook. There are 32 pages in it (including back/front covers) so it beats out the Original rulebook by 8 pages. I'll have scans up by tomorrow afternoon and some mild translation if anyone's interested.

I found this while going thru my OverPower miscellaneous stuff. I think its a dealer promotional pack. It contains folders, posters and OverPower stationary. I'm trying to find out if it has any worth since I dont really collect this kinda stuff. By the way, they copied The Toronto Guys 'Marvels' card back on their folder! :o

From the collectibles checklist: http://overpower.ca/checklists/collectibles.txt
The one that's holdering everything is an official File Folder, the Mission Control one. They didn't copy our backing because the item existed since 1996 or so.
The OverPower Legion is likely the OverPower Legion File Folder.
The Reinforcements Have Arrived is just that, the 4x9 inch promotional flier.
I have no record of the special offer card, that's new.
There are about 7 of those posters, 3 of them are similar to another 3 but have text at the bottom, and the PowerSurge one.
The rest aren't listed because GDMJR likely didn't have access to them to catalogue it in the checklists.

A wonderful collection you have there.
