my house rules topic got me thinking about this

beyonder/galactus seems to be a no-brainer, but perhaps i'm jumping to conclusions on that

9 tws, and galactus in reserve, cuts down on the cards needed to get to 56 and reduces dupes.

if that is true, who are the best 2 complementary players? should we put in an 8i for 3 more tws?  a negate seems to be a good idea.  serpent society gives you a versatile pure AD,  and a negate.

i think if it's marvels, i'd go with colossus and serpent society.  colossus' LO (tm avoid special/draw 1) and siberian strength will give you a damn nice blanket for stopping most attacks.

any other neat combos/suggestions?

Onslaught

I don't see why you would choose two characters without special cards to make a "dream deck" if you had no restrictions on the characters you could use. Galactus giving you 9 teamworks is really nothing compared to a regular 8 stat character giving you 3 (or more) teamworks while also having good special cards.

GREAT FORMAT! I cant believe i did'nt think of this....

I was thinking about this format that uses an 8 card decks... perfect hands everytime. Can you beat your opponent in a perfect scenario?

did you even read the other topic?  this is just a hypothetical question with the hope of promoting some discussion regarding deck building

almost a year away, and immediately with the negativity, eh dr.d?  and firmly attached to onslaught's backside...can overtime be far behind?

yeah, as i said, adding beyonder/galactus may have been more of a knee-jerk reaction to having no sum-deck by using the two most expensive on the same team.

who would you go with?

I don't have the encyclopedic knowledge of OP that I used to, but 3 characters that'd go really well together would be Heroes for Hire, Spawn (R), and Beyonder. Spawn only has one OPD worth using in this deck so you'd lose nothing by putting him in reserve. I can't think of a great front line teammate, but Cable would be a pretty good candidate.
