Beyonder's proper inherent

I just wanted to get some discussion about this in case I do decide to go ahead and include a Beyonder in the set of printed Marvels.

Right now, this is what I have since I haven't been able to find an image I like yet (looking through Secret Wars II in a bit).

QuoteCounts as 28 points for Tournament Deckbuilding. May play any teammate’s Special cards. May not play “One Per Deck” Special cards.

The reason why there's a dual clause for the specials was brought out in this discussion about his OPDs and something about Fighting Spirit Lives. Otherwise, his inherent would be shorter:
QuoteCounts as 28 points for Tournament Deckbuilding. May play any teammate’s non-“One Per Deck” Special cards.
which would allow him to poke at OPDs if there were to be an event that came up, etc.

I believe my inherent is fitting for Beyonder, does anyone disagree?

Do you think it would make sense to put the grid explanation on the card as well?

That's a good point. It would be almost impossible to put in all the restrictions on his grid (they take the max of the living characters + max of last character) without decreasing the font size to something even smaller -- unless there's a very concise way to state it within 7 words.

EDIT: Just realized this was posted in General Discussion, should be moved to Custom Cards.

EDIT: I did a test print of this card and it's already very small when printed on 2.5x3.5 inch. I won't be able to add it to his inherent.
On a related note, I wouldn't want to include the "∞ symbols guide" it on his inherent ability line anyway because it would be removed if Inherent Abilities were to be ignored for a battle (NG specials for example).

Not sure how you can shrink it down, but shouldn't it say that he can play any current teammate's non-OPD specials? I thought once they were dead he couldn't use them.

Nope, there was no restrictions on that. He can play any specials that were legally added to the deck but he can't play OPD.

EDIT:

As a reference, the Tournament Guide:

Ah, that's right. I was thinking of his power grid. Thanks Jack.

Just a thought, how about a separate crib card that explains how to play the Beyonder character card. It could have the info off of the tournament guide on it, so there would be no need to add extra text or shrink the text on the actual playing card.

Jack

Well, seeing how most people already know the ruling for Beyonder's grid (though it can be clarified if you account for grid-enhancers such as Super Soldier, etc.), it would be pointless to include the crib card with Beyonder.

I've decided to not include the text about his grid but I will change the inherent to closely follow the wording of similar characters.

QuoteCounts as 28 points for Tournament Deckbuilding. May play any teammate's Special cards. May not play One-Per-Deck Special cards.

The only difference is the OPD clause is not in quotation marks and it is hyphenated across the three words. This is consistent with Storm: Neutralized, Team X and X-Men.
