That's BBH's auction!

Seriously? As soon as I saw it I came here to see if it belonged to anyone.

Well, since my secret identity has been blown...  >:(

Yeah, I've been assembling sets for the past two years to flesh out my personal collection, and to sell off the excess.

As for the price - it's actually about $500 less than the components if you separate them and sell for the going rate. Also given that you're not often going to see a complete set of Image or X-men, the value is there. (Both sets took me years to cobble together)

We'll see if it goes. If not I'll continue to try and add the missing promos to really complete it and see what happens in the future.

I think the collection would be great for someone who wants to get into the game but just can't find those hard-to-get expansions.  I wish there were more sets available like this to help draw people in.

Thats is very pricey. I think you buy the sets & promo cards individually and pay $700 to $1000 less.  :o

I meant its $700 to $1000 undervalued... ;)

Good luck on your auction, BBH. I hope you do get a buyer.  I know how much work you put into collecting these sets.  :)

About how much is a full set of XMEN worth?  I have a box that is sorted, and I'm pretty sure it's complete.

Also, what cards are good in the set?  Everyone quit playing about the time it was released, so a few of us played with some specials from the set and a few characters, but most of the Cape Citadel guys never got used, shadow king, cerebro, etc.

Intestinal Fortitude was my favorite card in the set... am I the ONLY person on earth that likes Maggott?
And while I'm at it, are Tunnel worms as good as I think they are?

I'm no expert on X-men, as I had quit playing long before that set was released, but I have collected nearly a full set since then so I can chime in on some card values.

Any Character Devourer of Worlds is by far the most valuable, at somewhere between $50 and $60. After that there are a number of $25-$30 cards including A-Next, Capt Britain's Supersonic, Sunfire's Atomic Flame and Typhoid Mary's Dressed to Kill. There are others in that price range, but those are the four I can think of, as those are the four cards I still need for the set.

I believe full sets have grabbed $300-$350 in the past. Less that Image, but more than any other set. Obviously the individual cards are worth more than the whole, but it's much easier to sell the complete set.

And yes, you are the only person on Earth who likes Maggot, although I don't hate him.

KObossy

I've played since the game came out and proud to say I've never played with OR against Maggot  :o

I've gotta give Maggot some love!   I think that his specials are pretty good and I have definitely tried to use him in a deck or two.

same here

thetrooper27

I made a homemade Maggott that had a 7 strength built in, and could play one duplicate tunnel worms special, and made a special called appetite for anything that removed one card from play. may not remove a battlesite, homebase, or character.  Never got a chance to play him.  Anyone care to comment? (not on maggott but on the playability/ power of the cards ;D).

Now to business, I sorted through all my xmen overpower stuff.  I have a few extras.  Including a Devourer Of Worlds and a Captain Britain Supersonic.  If you have any requests, let me know, and I'll check with what I have and get back to you.  I'd like to do some trading!

Looks like BBH is back at it.  This time adding in most of the missing cards from the first listing.  Just missing 4 Classic Inserts.  Two of which are incredibly rare.

Very impressive! I'll be super envious of the person who does get their hands on this auction.

BigBadHarve

Yeah, I figured to hell with it, I pulled the missing cards from my collection to complete the listing for the sale. We'll see how she goes. I've had a couple of queries, including one guy asking how I could justify bumping the price!   :o
