December 30, 2010. Nine people gathered at a photography studio in Toronto and played an abaddoned card game they all love. Little did they know that this simple meetup gave the game a new lease on life.
Fast forward 5 years and we're now on the 3rd year of our tournament circuit. We haven't implemented too many rule changes but in 2015, we added the the following rule to help balance Any Heroes and Battlesites:
Devourer of Worlds may be attacked with up to 4 Activators at a time.
We felt this was a well needed rule to even out the playing field between Any Heroes and Battlesites. We're hoping to finally see a Battlesite deck as our champion, so, starting in 2016 we're formally announcing this rule:
1 Activator may be placed to Team OverPower/OverPower Toronto homebases.
The inherent abilities of the homebases will be:
OverPower Toronto may place one Any Hero/Character Special card, one Activator card, and one Any Homebase Aspect card. Any Hero/Character Specials and Activators may be played by any Character on OverPower Toronto.
Team OverPower may place one Any Hero/Character Special card, one Activator card, and one Any Homebase Aspect card. Any Hero/Character Specials and Activators may be played by any Character on Team OverPower.
We are also allowing the placing of both Any Heroes and Activators when Green Goblin and Dracula have played their IC specials, this is the only legal time these homebases can have 3 cards placed.

The first tournament to feature this rule will be the K2 Challenge 2016, hosted by John and Phil Keffer, in State College, PA, USA. The tournament is taking place on March 11 and 12 at The Atherton Hotel (125 South Atherton Street, State College, PA 16801).
We encourage you to book a room at the hotel, the rates should be $90 per night for two double beds, plus a $8 per night parking fee. To qualify for the discount, please mention the OverPower tournament when reserving over the phone (814-231-2100).
