I look forward to seeing it.  A character version would fit right into his location, as technically he IS a Doom Patrol member.

8/13/24 - I also added 5 more locations: Checkmate HQ, Egypt, Iceberg Lounge, Land Of The Damned, & Planet Krypton (the restaurant, not home of the Supes)

they can be found here: https://www.deviantart.com/justaopfan/gallery/64521128/miscellaneous-dc

9/21/24 - added 4 characters (Monsieur Mallah, Nightmaster, Nightshade, & Solovar) and 3 locations (Evil Institute, Gorilla City Prime, & Oblivion Bar)

10/20  So many views, so few comments.

1/1/2025 - Happy New Year!  added Requiem (variant of Artemis, no specials), InterCEPT, Supermen Of America, Gangbuster, Rampage, and Simyan & Mokkari.

Very interested in Danny the Street. I was actually gonna make him as a dual Homebase/Character for a set I'm planning in the near future.

I decided on the 2 Missions - both are inter-connected.
First. I went with The Rise Of The Third Army, a crossover between Green Lantern Vol 5, Green Lantern Corps Vol 3. Red Lanterns, and Green Lantern New Guardians.  (Includes 6 Events based on the story.)

Which lead me to another Mission, that I titled "The Ring Masters".  (Considering that "Lord of the Rings" was already taken by Mr. J.R.R. Tolkien.)  Consider it Kyle Rayner's journey through the rings.  (Includes 7 Events, 1 of which is a duplicate of the Rise Of The Third Army.)

You can find the cards here: https://www.deviantart.com/justaopfan/gallery/64521128/miscellaneous-dc.

Some of my favorite non-super hero comics are Y the Last Man, American Virgin, and Sandman.

General Comic Discussion / Re: Favorite Comic Artists

Pepe Larraz, Dan Mora, Tula Lotay, Carlos Gomez (his X-Terminators run with Leah Williams would have sent me flying to the shelves as a preteen boy! It did now!), and Zoe Thorogood are all top for me right now.

I really like the Max Fiumara on the Sacrificers, Mattia De Iulis on the Cull, Maria Llovet. I haven't read the Lovesick yet, but everything I've seen from Luana Vecchio is insane. Martin Morazzo and Chris O' Halloran on Ice Cream Man are unbeatable.

I haven't seen them on a ton of interiors, but Jen Bartel and Kevin Wada have done great cover work, especially for She-Hulk. And I can't mention cover artists and skip over Dave McKean.

For manga, I love Q Hayashida (Dai Dark, Dorohedoro), Taiyo Matsumoto (No. 5), and Naoki Urosawa (Pluto, 20th Century Boys).

Finally, my all time faves are Bill Sinkiewicz, Chris Bachalo, and (maybe somewhat of a surprise given the inclinations of the others named) but Alex Ross is at the absolute top of the heap. His Superman makes you believe a man can fly!

Quote from: justa on June 18, 2024, 10:00:58 PMI've said it before; I'll say it again.  They may not be "superhero" comics, but I still really enjoy Preacher (Garth Ennis & Steve Dillon) & Transmetropolitan (Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson).

Yeah, the Preacher is my favorite comic series of all time. I've read it over and over and suggest it to everyone. I think it strikes a good balance of critique and appreciation of American culture, and, despite (because of?) all the scat and smut, has such a beautiful and hopeful heart at its core.

I wish the same could be said about the Boys...

I've never read Transmetropolitan, but it's always been on my list.

Custom Cards / DC Missing Cards
Last post by fennshysa - June 23, 2024, 02:07:26 PM
So awhile back I decided to make DC versions of all the Teamwork cards that were missing. I don't believer I've shared them here yet. Here is a link to them.

I also did some DC versions of the grid altering artifacts that are here.

Quote from: fennshysa on June 17, 2024, 12:13:24 PMHe had a pretty important tenure on Hulk, no? That stuff didn't quite hit for ya?
I've read some of his Hulk stuff. Wasn't really a fan. He did write the original Spider-Man 2099 right? That was good. I collected a lot of the 2099 stuff when it came out. I mostly only liked the Doom and Spider-Man titles. That's worth a re-read sometime though.

Doom 2099 is head and shoulders above the rest, but I love the overall esthetic of the world and how every day we get closer to marvel 2099 just being real life.
