Hi everyone,

As some of you may know, I'm working on overpower.ca / oneperdeck.com and trying to recreate the OpDeck/OpOnline experience. I finally took time out of my studies to brainstorm a layout for my version of OpDeck.

Here is my development blog for the new layout:

There's nothing functional yet, but please read what I wrote and provide feedback either on the blog or post a reply here.

Onslaught

Looks perfect, I can't think of anything worth changing.

I agree. This looks really great. Love the blog.

Can't wait to playtest this thing when its up and running!

Jack- I love the layout. If you make it smartphone (IPhone) friendly you have a devoted fan for life.

iPhone might be a bit trickier, but if there's demand for one, I'll surely investigate.

The main problem is screen real estate. With the app as it is right now, it can barely fit on an iPad (I think, haven't tried yet) in Safari. I'll have to do more brainstorming to find a good layout for an iPhone and other mobile devices. Another problem I'm seeing is the size of the app for offline usage, the cards themselves are roughly 50MB (2621 pictures).

My futuristic plans are to have gaming over tablets. I won't be concrete and suggest that iPads are my device of choice, but I do envision playing against each other (locally, maybe even online) with a tablet-like device.

Thanks for the feedback so far, I will continue to update that blog on a regular basis as more work is done.

I've uploaded a video with an 80% complete page, check it out!

Still looks awesome to me!

Thank you so much for working so hard to keep overpower alive! All of us players owe you a debt of gratitude. Keep up the hard work. I cant wait to see this finished

Looking good!

How close are you to your goal?

There's still a lot to do, I got the monkey off my back with this current section, but I don't think there will be much work until after the holiday season so I can study for exams.

The remaining things to do..

Specials look up (more complex than just the card code right now)
Power Card look up (nothing too complicated)
Battlesite/Location look up (should be a fun one to do)
Universe/Tactic look up (again, simple)
Events look up (simple)

I also have to find a good way to present the 6+ sections. I think, given enough free time between my school semesters, I should have all of the above sections completed.

Then there's the deck building, have/want tradelists, etc. There's a few other ideas that I have in my mind that I'm leaving till May.

So, to answer your question BBH, I'm about 25% done my first task.

I think I might be mixing up your project with the work that BiOs was doing. Is this going to be playable through a server, aka you can sit around in a lobby and just play whoever joins instead of needing to know in advance that someone wants to play and connecting directly to their IP?

Either way, after playing a few matches today with Dr. Death and CoS, one thing became clear: it would be REALLY cool to have a mode that allows for spectators to watch the matches live.

Great job so far, I check your development blog all the time to see how it's coming along!

Jack

That's Bios' project.

Everything is in my mind right now, but how I have it planned out, there will be an ability to 'record' matches. I guess live matches wouldn't be out of the question, it all depends if what I have in my head works out.

To echo this; a lobby + spectating + recorded games would be massive.  Having a modern "battle.net" setup would definitely ease the wait period between events.    ;D

If you guys are willing to be guinea pigs when I have a half finished product, that would be nice!
