Our next meetup is on December 29th (tentative) and it will be our two year anniversary! BBH and I decided to meet on December 30th in 2010 and gather a bunch of OP players we were in contact with.

On a related note, The Orange King hinted at a tournament in Buffalo, New York sometime in March. For those who are interested, there will be a separate forum topic about this.

i hope you had 2 cameras going for the quarters. 

i looked at anys vs sites, and during the qualis, anys had the slight edge over sites 7-6 (didn't count any vs any or site vs site)

7anys overall vs 5 sites, with 2 of each being eliminated for the round of 8

1 any vs any, and 3 any vs sites in the 4 quarters...with all 3 anys taking it.  hope you recorded 2 any vs site!

I don't have the stats on who was on video yet. Encoding will take a while since I'm swamped with work right now.

The balance between Any hero vs Battlesite is getting more questionable as time goes on.  I suspect it's mainly due to the single elimination rounds; where someone can first turn devourer with a mediocre deck, and knockout someone with a far superior battlesite deck.

It's also the begining of the new metagame, because we are playing with cards that were never played with in a tournament enviroment.  So in essence people are still figuring things out (like the revised concept of attacking the battlesite).  After seeing 5 decks with a single 8 show up, and 7 Any Hero, I can only imagine how good a Beyonder/White Queen/Magneto/X-babies AoA Crossing/IG deck would be.  I can't really think of any other decks off the top of my head that are already in existance that would cleanup up this meta like that one.  Soon (if like any other point in history) it'll be all about the metagaming though; when tournament conditions, and certain balance issues arise; there's always the metagame!

agree 100%.  if you're using a battlesite without xbabies and lil iceman, you're just asking to be booted in the elimination.  throw in entropy field, and you've got 2 unstoppable cards that can win you a tournament on the first hand

I love the pics! So cool that so many of the new players and old guard are enjoying this great game.  I am holding off on-line play for the web-based program that will allow us to participate in these tournaments

Awsome pics and vids as always Jack!    Noticed one thing about gameplay though. I saw that Orange K. placed A-Next on the FFP homebase. I thought it could only be placed on Team OP. Is that right?

You are correct. That is a play that I am constantly reminding people of.
