Did anyone else here get the reboot set made by Overpower Legion? I'm curious to know what people think, especially about his retooled Power Grids.

Later tonight I think I'll go through and actually post the whole set to get some feedback (or at least the new Power Grids). But, if anyone has the set, and wants to chime in now, I'd like to hear from you!

I have a set of the first reboot he sent out and now i'm waiting for the new reboot :)  Great looking cards :)  haven't had the chance to use them in any decks though.

yeah, they definitely look good! I'm mostly curious about the retooled Power Grids because there are a few Hero cards that he rebooted for people I don't have IRL. One of them, for example, is Iron Man. He has an adjusted grid that seems (to me, at least) to actually be much more appropriate - but I wanted to get some more broad feedback.

It's funny - I don't really know why it's tripping me up so much, but it is. I'm not exactly playing tournaments, or even very competetive play... it's actually just been me and my kids barely getting into it, now...  :-\

So, there are a few changes that are really compelling to me, and I think I'm a HUGE fan of a couple of the moves. Some of the others though... I just don't know.

So, now that everyone has access to the list of the rebooted cards  ;) what do y'all think?

I really like this set since it makes ALOT of useless cards useful.  there are a few that are overpowered though I think:

Expendable Ally (OS) "Acts as a level # Energy attack. Attack Value is equal to the number of cards in Opponent's Hand."
Telepathic Unity (BH) "Teammate may avoid 1 attack. Team gains +2 to defense for remainder of battle." OPD

Everything else I love...and the art is sooooo good :)

I did wonder about that Doom card. it seem like it should maybe be OPD. also, you think the Jean BH is too powerful but the IWoman BH is ok?

what about the retooled power grids? I'm most curious what people think about Thor, IronMan, and Sentinels...?

Certainly makes Spidey & Thing (two characters I love) much more dangerous :D

Yeah, my brother is a big Spidey fan and I absolutely and immediately condoned the use of that AO. It fits perfectly with what the card is called, it puts Spidey immediately into a much more usable space given his grid - and it makes one of the most popular characters in ALL comics a little better in what should be his spot to shine - a Marvel game.

BasiliskFang

I think the ao should have a clause.
Def: 100% like an ao
Off: May not be used to remove a card in play.

Now it might be an ED.

gameplan.exe

while that could possibly be more in-line with the comics, I don't think it should be restricted from a game-balance-how-strong-Spidey-should-be point of view.

Why should he be able to heal or change the outcome of a card already in play?
He is not mystical or alien. If you think he should have a full on negate so should scarlet spider, venom, iron man, batman and robin

Demacus

I never understood why Beast's "Analyze" is a negate, but Batman never had a similar card, by name or ability.

chuu

I think that spiderman totally needs a negate since The Reavers who essentially have the same Grid have so many good cards.  Who the hell are the reavers....nobodies...lol.

well, to your point, Batman should, IMO, absolutely have a negate. again, I'm not talking about what makes the most sense in terms of comicbook realism (oxymoron?), but what makes sense in game balance and high-profile characters getting good cards. You could argue Venom getting one, i guess, although I've never known him to have a spider-sense... obviously if Spider-Man has one, sure, you could give one to Scarlet Spider - but then, shouldn't all of their cards be identical...? Iron Man most definitely does not need a negate, IMO, since he has plenty of useful cards and (at least until recently) isn't one of Marvel's 2 most popular characters (Spidey and Wolverine).
