Welcome to 2015 & Welcome to the most anticipated year of Overpower this Millennium.

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the game we all love.  Not only that, but we are coming off of a breakout year that finally brought together many of the small but dedicated playing groups from all over the central and eastern parts of the United States and Canada.  Overpower tournaments again have that feel that many of us used to know and love.  2014 gave us 4 major tournaments.  It gave us a rating system.  It gave us incredible prizes. It gave us a year ending Championship that even had a glass trophy.  Most importantly though, it gave us the chance to catch up with old friends and make many new ones.  In my wildest dreams I could not have anticipated how successful 2014 was going to turn out to be.  A big thanks goes out to everyone involved.  This was not done by one person alone, but by many dedicated players and hosts.  Thank you all for sharing your enthusiasm and time with the rest of us!

That brings us up to today.  Below I have included all of the current information for this years event.  Location and room information are at the bottom.

Yes chuu those all look good.

Our biggest concern is people using proxies that do not look like the actual card.

Our other concern is that the cards feel roughly the same inside the sleeves so as not to allow the proxy cards to be "marked" for shuffling purposes. Thickness etc.

chuu

Can someone that's gotten proxies from please remark if they feel different than other cards when they are in sleeves?

MHC

Chuu: I don't think you have anything to worry about.  Your proxies are slightly more stiff than regular cards.  This extra stiffness is sometimes noticeable when riffle shuffling, but only when the proxies are brand new and have not been shuffled previously.  If you shuffle like this guy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjLp5wh5y90), then the extra stiffness is unnoticeable.

I think the only thing to pay attention to with the proxies is the deck is sleeved in sleeves with an opaque back.  As with some cards from the later legacy sets, the sizes of the proxies are not the same as some of the earlier legacy cards.  This would be noticeable with clear-backed sleeves.

What about proxies for activators?

Teesaw, I don't think there should be any issue using the 3-stat bishop hero card as an activator, that's legal....:P

Tussin

if anyone needs 3 stat activators, i have massive duplicates and would love to help anyone out :)

This would be considered a level 2 energy power card.  You will need a proxy that looks like a Bishop hero.  It may be easier to get the actual card than a usable proxy in some cases.  Ask around.  Since we are a few months away from the event, perhaps chuu would be willing to take proxy orders??  If this turns out to be true, just make sure to toss him a little coin for his time.

I have no problem making proxies for people but I will need about a month to make sure it's printed and mailed out to them in time for the tournament.

Hey guys,

So far I think a friend and I will be going to the tournament. Is there any pre-registration needed/do you have a max number of participants? Or do we just show up on Friday? As we are coming from Canada, we just want to make sure :)

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Checking in to see if there's any free space in any cars going from Toronto?  If so, I'd like to catch a ride, if possible.

I don't think there's a maximum. No pre-registration needed either.

We normally figure that out at the meetup just before the tournament. We're working out a date for the February meetup, which might be the 28th.
