What's your collection like?

The past two years or so, I've been working hard to complete my various Overpower sets. If I exclude Image and the Promos from my count, I'm finally down to only missing 6% of all cards, but it's slow going.

It appears that most on here played longer (I stopped at IQ back in the day) and more than I ever did. Do the majority of people have full sets? If not how many cards are you missing? Anyone lucky enough to have the really rare cards, like the holo heroes or the accidentals?

Jack

100% base set (all expansion + all promos), 2 cards away (for now...) from the master set of uniquely printed cards (Lost Promos/misprints) and a few (maybe 8?) cards from the erroneous prints (pinks/yellows/etc).

Nice Sets Guys, I broke up my complete set's to get more copies of the VR cards that go in every single deck (A-Next, 5M, DoW, Beyonder). However, I did keep my complete Holo Hero Set and I have 2 of the Classic Accidental inserts (Deal with Devil & Image Inducer). Currently just a Velocity - Speedthrough away from completing Image.

Since I was only ever interested in the X-men and Batman people, and the (at least one time) good guys, at that, my collection is relatively small, but I have every card I want except these 10 cards. I do have a pretty nice printed copy of them though  ;)

Beyonder
Batman: Avenger
Batman: Detective
Comm: James Gordon
Atomic Flame (Sunfire)
Bladefire (Sabra)
Manifest Phoenix (Phoenix)
Supersonic (Capt.Britain)
A-Next
Devourer Of Worlds

I stopped playing sometime after classic came out, so I have everything up until then from the main sets, and I think I have all promo's up until then except for a Beyonder.

I have almost no Image cards and I have most of the X-men set but I am missing quite a few of the VR's.

I was trying to complete my collection vie ebay but can't justify the cost of the cards that are remaining with the amount of actual gameplay I get in.

I wonder why the cards that were released the most recently are the hardest to get and the oldest cards are so common.

Still looking for the final four cards to complete it...

Deal with the Devil (classic Insert)
Avenger's ID card. (And I'll likely not acquired one, I refuse to pay the $500 for the one listed on eBay!)
AnyPower Teamwork.

And lastly... <drum roll please>

The Hillshire Farms Basic universe card!!!  >:(

Personally, I stopped buying cards and playing Overpower right before Mission Control came out but over the years I would revisit my cards and ended up buying Overpower booster boxes for Mission Control, IQ and Monumental. For the past year or so I've been completing my sets and have done so for the first 5 Marvel sets (except for a Spider-Man IQ Hero Card). Currently I'm trying to get all the cards for the Classic and X-Men Overpower sets. I'm half way through X-Men Overpower and still need quite a bit of the Classic cards. I'm not really interested in the DC and Image sets but would be nice to get those DC Intellect Basic Universe cards.  :) In addition to getting all the cards I'm also collecting them in a way that makes each character playable, meaning I end up spending way more money getting duplicates of many of them. My friends enjoy playing with them, but they certainly have shied away from chipping in to get the cards. Cheapskates!! LOL

I was able to pick up a promo Infestation Incident event by closely looking at a few auctions and seeing a non-white area where there should be some white text. Too bad the Elector BU from Hillshire won't as easy to spot BBH.

My Hillshire set was purchased in a sealed pack. :D

I did the same thing for that card. Picked up the event, a Captain Universe and a PS Confusion all for like six bucks. I liked that auction.

The Electro card is a pain. I also got the set from the lunchables years and years ago. When I started sorting out my cards a few years ago I was very worried that I had lost my HF Generator over the years, since it looks so similar. Luckily it was mixed in with all my other PS cards.

I'm impressed Nate. As I think you know, I've been doing the same thing the past 2.5 years and I still need 15 cards for PS, 24 for IQ and maybe 28 for Monumental, and I've bought at least a box of each in addition to what I bought fifteen years ago.

I'm hoping to finish up PS, IQ and DC this year before moving onto the other four sets, but this habit is certainly getting pricey.

Since I got booster boxes for Mission Control, IQ and Monumental way back then, I've got a bit of duplicates that I'd be willing to part with. Hopefully they are the ones you are looking for. If you check out that OP trading card site then check for Dan and feel free to look through my list of haves. Do you have a listing on that site?

I'm not listed on that site, but when I get a chance I'll look more at your posting. Perhaps we could help each other out. I've got a decent number of DC/JLA/Classic/X-men duplicates.

That sounds great! I'll try to update my want list for Classic and X-Men sets. I'm personally hoping to give out a lot of my extras to people like you who are doing their best to complete their collection. I hate to see them in a box never to be played or looked at. So hopefully I will have cards you are wanting. I'm more inclined to give them away free but having something to trade (if possible) never hurts.  :)

My collection is pretty decent.  I have large number of cards spanning all sets.  The sets I am missing the most cards from are Image and Classic.  In fact, those are the only sets that I am missing non-variant heroes from with the exception of not having Mr. Fantastic's IQ hero card.  I am also missing almost everything from the Onslaught mini-expansion.  When I started to get back into Overpower a few years ago I picked up a bunch of boxes as well as people's collections on Ebay.  I built two pretty comprehensive collections from those cards for me and my wife.  At the time I didn't know what stuff was hard to find and what stuff was common, but I managed to get a box of Classic and a box of X-Men.  I also would up with a bunch of packs of Image which is where almost all my Image stuff comes from.  So, my collection is good, but definitely has gaps.  I don't have an actual list of what I need though, so I should work on that and pick up what I am missing.

Bullio

Mine is primarily Marvel and Image, with about half a box of DC and maybe 10 cards from JLA.  3 stat, Image, and X-Men hero sets are complete.  I have a very solid portion of the really rare cards from each set, but none of the super rare/expensive stuff like the Classic inserts or holo heroes.

Kal-el

I'm down to 61 cards left (not including the inserts). Just need a Viking Pyre to complete IQ, then I'll just have Monumental, Classic, X-men, Image and JLA left (and a few promos). I feel like I'm so close, but then I realize how many of my remaining cards are $20+ cards. DOW and A-Next are going to hurt, and I'm not even thinking about the holo heroes yet.
