Proxy cards will only be allowed for cards from the marvels set.
/u]  The only cards that can be proxied are cards that were not officially released.  Using home made cards is a slippery slope we would prefer not to go down. We do want everyone to come and have as much fun as possible though, so please let me know of any issues this policy is causing and we will do our best to help people out.  The only reason the marvels is legal is because it was designed an tested by the original overpower team.[/b]

If we were to allow people to show up with decks that had just any card proxied, we would be doing a disservice to those that have gone out and invested in the cards necessary to complete their decks.

We stand firm on this.

I hope that our answers above are to the point and provide enough clarity.  If we're simply muddying the waters, please let us know.

Regards,

K2
.  Is this still in effect for 2015?  I was willing to travel and play in Toronto cuz they allow all cards available to all players i.e. Color proxies of ALL cards allowed.  So a deciding factor for traveling for hours and renting a hotel room is if will proxies will be allowed ( I won't have money enough for BOTH buying Tiffany MP et al and travel costs despite gas prices falling.  :P   )

This event is definitely still happening!

There has been discussion about the idea of allowing a few select cards to be used as proxies.  Multi 5 is one of those cards.  While this has not been decided upon yet, I believe there is a good chance this will happen.

Also, last year, I believe most if not all people had all the cards they needed by the start of the tournament.  We realize it is harder to borrow / find and buy certain cards, hence the above discussion.  Please contact me directly with any specific questions or concerns, Im more than willing to help facilitate everyone having as much fun as possible :)

I had discussed getting a ride from a few people associated with the Toronto Group.  I'm wondering if this offer still stands.  If anyone is willing to come through London, or if I can meet anyone in Toronto, please PM me.

How serious is the Friday Night 'just for fun' game?

I'm considering a trip out to State College and I'm wondering if people would be interested in playing around with customs.  Theoretically, if people were interested, I'd take requests for cards that people wanted printed, and bring them with me...

I know they wouldn't be allowed in the actual tournament, but any thoughts on this?

Friday night will be super easy going.  It is mainly for meeting other players and preparing for Saturday.  I feel this is the most fun part of the weekend!

Last year we did a "draft" format that we created.  All packs were provided.  It was a success and we plan to do it again.  Any number of people can draft though, so if some people wanted to just play regular games or play any other fun format, that would be fine.

There is currently a 75$ per night room rate.  Last year there was also a $7 per room per night parking charge.  So just assume $82 per night plus tax.  I believe this rate is roughly half of what the standard rate would be, so make sure to mention the overpower tournament when you call to make reservations.  The tournament is held at the Atherton Hotel in Stage College, PA.

Within the next week or so we plan to release more specific details about the tournament format.  This will include what proxies will be legal.

We can't wait to see you all to kick off 2015!

Phil & John Keffer

March 13 and 14th, but plan to stay until Sunday Morning the 15th.

Did K2 change rankings? Will Peace Bridge DC3 tourney affect ratings, was that decided? Anyway see y'all in Buffalo in a few weeks!

BlueFire

The post K2 ratings have not been processed / posted yet.  I am not sure of the time frame as Jack has inherited that responsibility on top of his many others.

As for DC3 being rated, I am sure that it will not be rated.  Only main event tournaments with standard rules are currently being rated.

That doesn't mean DC3 doesn't matter though.  Unless you want to be singing the Canadian National Anthem at the end of the night, bring a good deck ;)

I can encode it in 4K, won't make any difference with the source material being only 720p
