I stand corrected on the Illuminati rosters.  There's more there than I realized.  Thanks for "illuminating" me, steve.
The special cards you suggest don't seem too far out of line.  I particularly like excalibur corps leader, born ready, & the 1st x-man.
The character cards, well....IMHO, I think the "keep duplicates" & "play from Reserve" are too heavy handed.
One special on an IA for dupe seems manageable.  The way the game was designed, the "dupe" effect is in the OPD & non-OPD.  The comic battle is the card game.  Each hand is an individual skirmish in the overall battle.
One special on an IA for reserve use seems manageable.  Other specials that specify play from reserve on the card are great to give to those who can/should be able to help "behind the scenes/front line".  You'd be just as well off to create a house rule on what the reserve characters can & cant play, or simply use 4 front line characters.  Either way it would have to apply to both sides to be fair.
Again, this is justa my opinion.   I love the thinking outside the box, though.

you're welcome
for the moment ill stick with what i got (i spent hours thinking and typing all this)
but you never know
and i wanna here from others as well

but its not like made all those specials from reserve (maybe make it just 2 from reserve perhaps)
cyclops is a special case
lets take banshee...he still cant play his AA to JC combo from or AA to AS or JC to AS combo from reserve...maybe remove sonic scream from the I A? luck of the irish isnt a power either
COLOSSUS...cant play his from reserve
iceman.... maybe just snow blind (not like it would be used LOL) and hail storm from reserve......leave the attack specials out of it what do you think of that?
nightcrawler....i did leave his OPD's of the I A
storm...maybe remove the AA and AQ from the I A list i also didnt have her HF (x-men leader listed either as im focusing make better use of their actual powers) leading isnt an actual power too bad the smileys dont show up LOL

regular cyclops cant play this plan requires teamwork from reserve like the born leader variant? can

dont forget... you can only have 1 in reserve (in this case playing certain specials) nor can power cards be played
i think i get what youre saying
youre saying that may keep 1 duplicate. or 1 duplicate of each listed above?
as opposed to 2 or more

Not sure these should have been on steve's thread, but whatever....
Cabal - Thanos was a different set of Cabal, it should have been The Hood.
God Squad - again mixing 2 different sets, subbing Snowbird for MODOK would resolve that.
Illuminati - Beast & Hulk were not members, should be Prof X & Namor.
Otherwise, a different (& interesting) way to make team based locations without having an actual location involved.

Put them on as the discussion leaned toward missions, that's all.

Each team utilizes characters that have been on the team in their various incarnations other than specific line-ups.  Adds for more variety and, so smaller teams like Fantastic Four, more character options.

added ice clone to iceman
Ice Clone Generation: The ability to generate ice clones of himself. It is unknown how many ice clone he can create at once.

added reform body to iceman
from his wikia http://marvel.wikia.com/Robert_Drake_%28Earth-616%29
Molecular Moisture Conversion: The ability to transform organic matter, such as a human body, to organic ice and back again. With this, it is possible for him to project his consciousness through moisture molecules and reform his body at the destination.

COLOSSUS
changed "so whats the plan comrade?"

its like he's asking scott what to do
then attacks with the chosen special next turn or defends depending of the previously chosen special

in a german accent
1 added prepare to teleport to nightcrawler
he has plenty to choose from
2 added lifetime of teleporting to nightcrawler
do 2 then 1 and be ready next turn (just like banshee......cant believe i just thought of that)
3 added teleport a teammate to nightcrawler
4 added scouting teleport to nightcrawler
5 added teleport on ahead to nightcrawler
6 added self teleport to safety and medical attention to nightcrawler\
7 added peek-a boo i teleport past you
8 added teleport past perimeter defenses

cant think of anything else right now
oh
and changed summon elemental power (replacing the original) makes more sense to "summon" one of her own
