Hi Everyone,

Here is the information so far for the Toronto Overpower Championships that will be held on the weekend of October 22nd, 2016.

Registration is between 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Format:

7 Rounds of Swiss, with a top 8 finals.

DoW multi-activator drop rule in effect, as well as the Team Overpower erratum to allow placement of Activators.

Babe power cards will also be legal for this event.

Entry: $25 USD or $30 Canadian

7 rounds of Swiss followed by at top 8 elimination round.

Prize:
1st - $250 Cdn + trophy
2nd - $125 Cdn
3rd - $75 Cdn
4th - Ra's Al Ghul Holo hero
5th - 8th - still TBD, stay tuned for updates.

SPECIAL BOUNTY THEME AND PRIZE:
The Coming Of Galactus!

The bounty is a DoW Any hero card. In order to be eligible for this bounty, you must place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd overall and your team must have Galactus on the FRONT LINE, as well as be using the 'COMING OF GALACTUS' MISSION SET with at least one (1) Event. In the event of multiple successful claimants, the qualifying player with the highest placing will take the bounty.

UPDATE!

Hello everyone, due to unforeseen circumstances Chuu has had to relinquish hosting duties for the Overpower Championships. This means a changeover. Jack and I have discussed options and will have new information for you as soon as possible.

There will be a change up in the entry fees and prizing structure, which we will confirm soon.

The date is fixed and will not change, though there will not be a Friday event this time.

I will post updated information soon.

Hey Everyone! Sorry about the delay, I was trying to lock a new venue, but alas it fell through so we are back at Duelling Grounds. Game is on for Saturday, the 22nd.

The store opens at 11:00 am, so we'll need everyone there on time, registration by 11:30 and start no later than 12:00.

Hello everyone!

We have finalized the prizing information!

So here are the complete details for the upcoming Championship on Saturday, October 22nd.

LOCATION:

Duelling Grounds
1193 Bloor Street West - Rear (Entrance on Brock, south of Bloor)
Toronto, Ontario, M6H 1N4


TIME:
Registration starts at 11:00 am
First round starts at 12:00 pm (If everyone is ready we will start sooner)

PLEASE BE ON TIME!!!

The store closes at 7:00 pm, so we'll need to be done before then.


FORMAT:

7 Rounds of Swiss, with a top 8 Single Elimination round.

DoW multi-activator drop rule in effect, as well as the Team Overpower erratum to allow placement of Activators.

Rounds are 35 minutes. Once Last Hand has been called players who are already in the middle of a hand may finish and start a fresh hand. If no venture has occurred, then that will be the final hand for that match.

ENTRY: $25 USD or $30 Canadian

PRIZES:
1st - $250 Cdn + trophy
2nd - $125 Cdn
3rd - $75 Cdn
4th - Ra's Al Ghul Holo hero
5th - Adam Warlock Soul Gem Promo Card
6th - Maverick Character card + choice of 3 specials from a selection of X-men rares.
7th - A choice of 2 cards from a selection of X-men rares.
8th - Confusion promo Any-hero, Plus 2 promo events (Alien Creature Rampages, Mutant Rebels held captive.)

ENTRY GIFT - 3 pack of cards, including a Savage Land Any Hero promo, and our homemade Toronto Location card, and OverPower Toronto Location card.

SPECIAL BOUNTY THEME AND PRIZE:
The Coming Of Galactus!

The bounty prize is a Devourer of Worlds Any hero card.

In order to be eligible for this bounty, you must place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd overall and your team must be playing GALACTUS on the FRONT LINE, as well as be using the 'COMING OF GALACTUS' MISSION SET with at least one (1) Event.

In the event of multiple successful claimants, the qualifying player with the highest placing will take the bounty.

We will also be having a wind-down at my place afterwards for socializing and grudge matches. It's only a short drive away from the game location. More details on the day.

no ALCS game 7, so i'll be there :(

if anyone is interested, I'm offering my services again as a mercenary.  You pay the fee and pick the team, and take any prizes.

I can use my own team too, but that didn't work out so well for the backer last time
