i justa saw Lady Deathstrike (another 1st timer), so i'll try to comment later.

an idea for Genosha:  team may use any Power card usable by Front Line for defense.  (you can clean up the wording.)  the idea is to feature Hodge's mind control on the mutants.  it wouldn't help Storm, Warlock, or Hazard much (similar grids), but it would help Hodge (the controller) and Wolfsbane (the most controlled) a fair bit.  i haven't seen your Rictor yet.  just an idea....

fennshysa

I like that a lot. Good reasons, i'll use it.

justa

Lady D - appropriate grid with decent enough specials to use her and make her different.  i like how several of the special mechanics match the titles perfectly.  and using her on Outback (with Reavers, Wolvie, and probably Longshot) makes a good team (if you decide who to put in Reserve).  what's not to like?
good work on that one!

Photonicide

Great job with Lady D! I really like her Personal Vendetta special, which combos really well with her IA! A really great low total stat character that could fit nicely on fighting teams  :D

Thank you guys! Appreciate it. Here are a few more. I've been busy today.

1st, Another Wolverine villain. He made it on two Power cards and a Universe card so I figured he should get his own set of Specials.

Cyber      3   8   6   3   20
May be included on a team with Madripoor as a Homebase.

Cyber   Adamantium Skin
Cyber may avoid any numerical attack.

Cyber   Enraged
Acts as a level 6 Strength attack. Cannot be defended by a card with an Intellect icon.

Cyber   Mercenary Contract
Add 2 to Venture Total each battle for remainder of game.

Cyber   Poison Claws
Acts as a level 0 AnyPower attack. May only be defended using a Power card with a Value of 5 or greater. If successful, after each discard phase draw a random card from your Power Pack, you may exchange it with this card or discard it.

Cyber   Psionic Tracking
Cyber ignores the effects of all Special cards in play that affect the "remainder of the Battle" or the "remainder of the Game" when attacking Target Character for remainder of game.

Cyber   Sneak Attack
Acts as a level 6 Intellect attack, may be made while Cyber is in Reserve.

Trying to finish out the X-Force lineup. Made her 2/3 different from her father. Copied the last two specials exactly though.
Siryn      7   4   3   4   18
When Siryn hits Target Character with "Piercing Shriek" they must also discard 1 placed card. May be included on a team with Muir Island as a Homebase.

Siryn   Irish Temper
Acts as a level 4 Fighting attack. May make 1 additional attack.

Siryn   The Morrigan
Remove all hits with icon of Siryn's choice from the Permanent Record of her teammate.

Siryn   Piercing Shriek
Acts as a level 4 Energy or Strength attack. Attack not affected by Special cards already in play.

Siryn   Sonic Assault
Acts as a level 8 Energy attack. If successful, Target Character may not play any Special cards for remainder of battle.

Siryn   Sonic Glide
Avoid 1 attack.

Siryn   Vocal Hypnosis
Siryn and target character may not attack for remainder of battle.

I have fond memories of these guys as the bad guys during my youth. They featured as the main opposition in the New Warriors/X-Force crossover. I apologize for the terrible art on the character card. There was no other choice.
The Upstarts      7   4   2   5   18
+3 to Venture Total when opponent's character KO'd.

The Upstarts   Fabian Cortez
Target teammate's Power Grid Ratings increase by 1 for remainder of game and target teammate's Hits to KO is reduced by 7 points.

The Upstarts   Fenris Twins
Acts as a level 4 Energy attack. May combine with 1 Energy card for a single attack.

The Upstarts   Gamesmaster
Play during battle on Target Character When Target Character is KO'd, The Upstarts are +5 to Venture Total.

The Upstarts   Graydon Creed
Acts as a level 5 Intellect attack. If successful and Target has Hits totaling 15 or more, then Target is KO'd regardless of Inherent Abilities and other Special cards.

The Upstarts   Shinobi Shaw
Acts as a level 4 Fighting attack. If Target Character is K.O.'d by this Hit, The Upstarts may move 1 Mission card from the Defeated Pile to the Completed Pile.

The Upstarts   Sienna Blaze
Acts as a level 8 Any-Power attack. Does not count toward Spectrum KO.

The Upstarts   Trevor Fitzroy
Acts as a level 5 Energy attack. If successful, Target Character's Hits to KO number is decreased by 3 points for remainder of game.

Cyber's been done a few times, but Siryn is a first with her own specials (the other played Banshee specials), and the Upstarts not only a first but also a surprise.  a few comments:

Cyber - Psionic Tracking - interesting twist.  i considered something similar but never applied it - self ignores all "ROB & ROG" specials for ROG (as a OPD), since it only applies to him & not the rest of the team.  yours seems almost to be non-OPD (but it is OPD).  but good as is.
Cyber - Sneak Attack - should probably be OPD like Hawkeye's Avenging Archer.
Siryn - nice mix of outfits.
Upstarts - Fabian Cortez - that works!  Mordo's card turned sideways (sorta).
Upstarts - Fenris - you know i'm not a fan of the legacy AE, but considering the Power grid, wouldn't a BO (Cyclops' Remove Visor) be more appropriate?  i realize it would be another OPD, but just giving you my opinion.

good stuff.    :)

Photonicide

Wow you have been busy!  ;D

I really like Cyber's "Mercenary Contract" special. I have never been a big fan of cards that cost you card advantage but this is one that could really pay off in the long run if you build your team around winning the venture. I am wondering why you moved Siryn's "Piercing Shriek" effect from the special card to her IA?

Thanks! I had fun making all 3 of these.

Justa:
Good catch on Sneak Attack. I completely missed that that was a OPD when making it. Changed it in the original post. Thanks!

Fenris: I waffled back and forth on this one, thought about OPD.  The deciding factor was Deadpool, Punisher, Surfer and Blob (non-iq) all have grid levels of 7 in the skill that can combine with their AE Special and in the case of 3 it makes a dual icon possible 11 attack. I figured Energy + Energy with Fenris I could get away with. Plus it was thematic.

As to the rest, I have to keep trying new stuff or i feel like i'm just rehashing old characters, glad you liked them.

Photonicide:

I figured if it could be playable from Reserve and lasted all game that just might make it worth trying.

As to Siryn's Piercing Shriek, since I made it a different card than Banshee's Shatter Shriek and i needed a decent Inherent for Siryn i figured I'd try something new. It ties it thematically to Banshee's card and makes a non-OPD almost OPD quality if it hits. Just trying something new.

justa

Mercenary Contract reminded me of OP3's Permafrost for Iceman: Bobby Drake.  that one's not quite as much a gimmie as your card is, because it can't be played from Reserve, and he has to take the hits to get the benefit.

Hello. Just a couple things this evening.
Changed the art on Cyber.

Cyber      3   8   6   3   20
May be included on a team with Madripoor as a Homebase.

Finally got some art that would work for Ahab's Character card. He only has two specials because of his Inherent Ability. The Inherent represents the battle site being his camps from the future and the characters under it the 'hounds'.

Ahab      4   5   6   4   19
During discard phase, may discard up to 2 Activators to draw matching Specials. Ahab may place and play those Specials as his own.

Ahab   Harpoon
Acts as a level 5 Energy attack. Attack may not be defended with a Special card.

Ahab   Hound
Ahab may Place and play any Phoenix Special cards for remainder of game.

justa

i have mixed feelings on this one.
on one hand:  i would have thought his few specials would be a little more kick-ass since only 1 of your Battlesite cards can be OPD.
on the other hand:  the IA is a great way of being able to save the cards used by duplicate Activators, and a way to duck out from under a DoW without wasting the Activators.
it works, it's something i've never seen tried before, and it's another newbie to OP for me.
enjoying the work!

I was actually contemplating the value of Any Character vs. Activators recently. It seems from something i read that Any Characters are seeing more play currently.

Maybe that is because of Devourer of Worlds? Only about 5 Any Characters would be OPD if they  were Specific Character Specials, of course that's 4 more than a battlesite though. A couple of those OPD Any Characters are pretty situational though which makes them less desirable (to me at least) and none are high attacks. So allowing 3 OPD under a battlesite wouldn't really solve the disparity because they could all 3 be high attacks.

So yeah, that's exactly what i was going for.

the IA for Ahab fits it's purpose well, then.

yes, from everything i've seen/read, Battlesites don't often win in tournament play.
technically, all Battlesite Specials are OPD in that you can only have 1 of each code.  that seems to me to equate to the fact that most Any Character ("AC") Specials are OPD.  but the options for "AC" or Battlesite are different; plus some people have a fixed purpose in mind when choosing and building a Battlesite.  additionally, people have their own preferences on whether or not to use homemade cards, and which ones are OK to use.

i've been thinking of creating some more "AC" Specials, since i haven't really found a direction or inspiration for new characters.  to counter all the available "AC" Specials already made (there's already more than 60!) plus the ones i'm thinking of, i have in mind a location that won't be much of a Homebase, but should prove to be sort of an ultimate Battlesite.  i still have some details to work out, but i expect to have it up within the next month or so.  time will tell.

fennshysa

Looking forward to seeing what you have. I've always disliked the AC codes anyway.
