This was our biggest turnout so far! I had a great time at both tournaments and finally put some faces on some people whom I've only spoken to online.

The overall winner, having a perfect record with 5 wins in the Swiss Rounds and winning all 3 rounds of single elimination, is Phil Keffer, aka BlueFire!

I'm busy until at least the 8th with an assignment. And I have an exam on the 12th, so.. unlikely. Trust me, I would work on these starting tonight if I didn't have priorities.

... and no, I'm not going to push out the Finals at the beginning. Not my fault if the stream had a hiccup (or not), if you wanted to see it, fly out and be there next time.

All thanks should go to Larry Van Etten, the Orange King for hosting a fabulous event. Was great venturing to the Mission. <g> Liked the bunting and the Uncle Sam hats for the Max-6, next year we need to bring hockey helmets or fur hats with the Maple Leaf. Great seeing new and old American friends. Anybody thinks this is a dead game after fifteen years is wrong.

I was pleased with the deck. Angel's Draw 4 with Hawkeye's Combat Leader won a lot of games for me, Malice from the Battlesite to double up. Deck has a ton of venture: two 6-4, 4 multis with follow, 2-8 Dynamite Delivery, etc. etc. Storm's Venture Reset card also saved my butt a couple of times. Marvels made this a playable deck and Battlesite.

Just plain ran out of gas in the semi vs. Breadman, had a shot at Phil Keffer in the Final. I was up 3/2 on Characters and tossed Beyonder for no reason, alas. Phil had beat me in the regular round by pulling the No Activators event [four in my hand] after I had Little Iceman'ed DoW two hands prior. With the top decks it is often who pulls their Events first. The Trick or Treaters found out I run two of them in the deck the hard way. <g>

Both Keffers played hard, with excellent decks. Any Hero decks are still dominant with DoW in play, so often how early or late this shows against Battlesite decks is a determinant. I was running two Little Iceman so I could run the Tunnels.

Also thanks to Jack for outstanding technical support with the cameras and the website.

I hope we organize a repeat for next year!

Kind of confused by the post by Pass the Gestalt.

Mike, you beat me in the max 6 tournament when I venture 6 and lost.
In the main event we played in the Swiss rounds (perhaps round 3?).  You did little iceman my DoW in that game, but i was still able to win. That was the only time we played in the main event. 

You did play my cousin John in the last round of the max 6.  I believe my cousin won. 

As for the top 8 of the main event, I played:

Quarters vs cousin John (dice k)
Semis vs breadmaster (so you couldn't have played him)
Finals vs marcel

only 4 out of 18 decks didn't have an 8-stat character

This is quite interesting, as a matter of fact. I think it shows that the perception doesn't always meet the truth.

A max-8 team can gain obvious advantages, but it's not exactly a requirement for competition (even though the max-7 teams didn't quite make the finals). 2 of the top 4 is a pretty good showing
