Nice work. I like the unique inherent ability for Parasite, it's a nice matchup with the Marvel OP3 set having Rogue and her unique grid/inherent.

While I was off on my guesses, I'm glad that both Metallo and Parasite were redone for OP3. I think Brianiac might be my favorite of the entire set, but there are plenty of other worthy candidates as well. I really like the Trinity having 8s in three different categories, and as I've mentioned in the Batman thread, I like that he's 8I instead of 8F, and I was always for the opposite until now.

I sent in my print order for the characters just a few moments ago, so I'm looking forward to building some decks and getting a few games under my belt with these new cards. We'll see how it goes.

I know it's early, but do you have any plans for any future Marvel or DC sets in the future? After a much deserved break of course!

Of course.  There are still 20 (new and old) Marvel characters listed on my Locations that I'm hoping to include in the next set, and it's still bugging me that I haven't finished Tactics, Universe cards, Missions, Events, and Power cards.  My vision for the game won't be complete until I get on that stuff.  There are still a lot of classic characters that either need fixing or weren't even included in the game at all.  Not to mention the great characters that have been created since the game went out of print.  I'm far from done.

At least Black Lightning got in on a Special somewhere.   ;D  I like Life Leech - just the threat of it would reduce use high level attacks against him, and you can't avoid it (only negate it).  Parasite could use a card like Mechanical Juggernaut (in Energy, of course) to pair with it.

I applaud you for how far you have gone with this reboot, and I hope to see more in the future at some point(s).

I do have a question on the Affiliations (specifically the definition of the icons).  Many have been "named" in Special cards (e.g. Power Girl's Paragon of Justice).  Most are obvious from the symbols.  (Good to see the Legion get some props - they're underrepresented in OP.)  I could ask a series of 8 questions (5 of the 13 Marvel & 3 of the 15 DC), or you could post a complete listing of the "official names" of the icons used to-date?
Most are "approximatable" (for intent) based on what was on deviant.art or in threads, but 2 specifically have me wondering:  the "null" symbol as found on Batman (No Man's Land?), and the "lightning" symbol as found on Punisher (no clue).
(I'm feeling deficient that I couldn't nuke these 2 out.   :-[)

i'll stay tuned every step of the way, and i will print these beauties off for use at a later date

Justa, you mentioned Black Lightning but you weren't sure of what symbol was on Batman's card?  It's the Outsiders:P  Punisher's might be a little trickier I guess if you're not up on recent comics, but he was on Red Hulk's Thunderbolts team with Ghost Rider, Elektra, Venom, and Deadpool.  The Core Set symbols break down as follows:

Marvel

  • Avengers (Absorbing Man, Ant-Man, Beast, Black Panther, Black Widow, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Hulk, Iron Man, Loki, Luke Cage, M.O.D.O.K., Rogue, She-Hulk, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Squirrel Girl, Taskmaster, Thing, Thor, Wasp, Wolverine)
  • Captain America (Black Widow, Captain America)
  • Cosmic (Captain Marvel, Rocket Raccoon, Silver Surfer)
  • Fantastic Four (Black Panther, Dr. Doom, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Mr. Fantastic, She-Hulk, Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, Storm, Thing)
  • Hulk (Absorbing Man, Hulk, M.O.D.O.K., She-Hulk)
  • Iron Man (Iron Man, M.O.D.O.K.)
  • Marvel Knights (Black Panther, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Punisher)
  • S.H.I.E.L.D. (Black Widow, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Spider-Woman, Taskmaster)
  • Spider-Man (Black Cat, Dr. Octopus, Green Goblin, Human Torch, Spider-Man, Venom)
  • Supernatural (Dr. Doom)
  • Thor (Absorbing Man, Loki, Thor)
  • Thunderbolts (Deadpool, Green Goblin, Hawkeye, Luke Cage, Punisher, Taskmaster)
  • X-Men (Angel, Beast, Colossus, Cyclops, Deadpool, Emma Frost, Iceman, Jean Grey, Jubilee, Kitty Pryde, Magneto, Mystique, Professor X, Psylocke, Rogue, Storm, Wolverine)

DC

  • Aquaman (Aquaman, Black Manta)
  • Batman (Batgirl, Batman, Batwoman, Catwoman, Huntress, The Joker, Nightwing, Poison Ivy, Red Robin, The Riddler, Robin, Two-Face)
  • Birds Of Prey (Black Canary, Huntress, Power Girl)
  • The Flash (The Flash, Professor Zoom)
  • Fourth World (Darkseid)
  • Green Arrow (Black Canary, Deathstroke, Green Arrow)
  • Green Lantern (Green Lantern, Sinestro)
  • Justice League (Aquaman, Batman, Black Canary, Booster Gold, Brainiac, Captain Atom, Captain Marvel, Darkseid, Deathstroke, The Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Lex Luthor, Martian Manhunter, Plastic Man, Red Tornado, Supergirl, Superman, Wonder Woman, Zatanna)
  • JSA (Captain Marvel, Dr. Fate, Hawkman, Power Girl, Stargirl, Wildcat)
  • Legion Of Super-Heroes (Brainiac, Supergirl, Superman)
  • Magic (Captain Marvel, Dr. Fate, John Constantine, Zatanna)
  • Outsiders (Batman, Nightwing, Starfire)
  • Superman (Bizarro, Brainiac, Darkseid, Lex Luthor, Metallo, Parasite, Power Girl, Superboy, Supergirl, Superman)
  • Teen Titans (Blue Beetle, Cyborg, Deathstroke, Nightwing, Red Robin, Starfire, Superboy, Wonder Girl)
  • Wonder Woman (Cheetah, Wonder Girl, Wonder Woman)

I can see adding at least one more DC Affiliation in an expansion (Suicide Squad), but I'm not sure about Marvel.  I was batting around the idea of a Defenders Affiliation, but every character on that team fits better elsewhere.  There were always more an assemblage of Marvel leftovers, horribly dysfunctional and only tenuously connected by whatever crisis they were currently involved in.  There's maybe only one or two characters who symbolize the Defenders above all other teams or Affiliations, and I don't think it's worth including just for them.  The New Warriors might be worth including, but I was thinking of just grouping all their members under the Marvel Knights banner along with other street-level types like the Runaways and Cloak & Dagger.  Alpha Flight?  Too obscure to stand apart from the X-Men Affiliation.  Same goes for Excalibur, or any of the American X-Men splinter teams.  Inhumans?  They'd all be covered by Fantastic Four, Avengers, and Cosmic.

Thanks for the explanation!
I feel dumb for missing the Outsiders, but I must admit I dismissed it originally as "just another Bat Book".  I didn't get into them until post "Graduation Day", which was a whole other deal.  I got into Black Lightning back in the 70's (my teen years), and lost sight of him when they cancelled his title and he wouldn't join JLA.  (And don't get me started on the cheap teeny-bopper rip-off called Static.)
Thunderbolts I don't feel so bad about missing, as there have been so many incarnations.  I just didn't think of them.
The only other Marvel group that immediately comes to mind is Sinister Six, but they'd all fall within the Spiderman Affiliation anyways, so why bother?
