I'll scan (actually I'll probably photograph due to my death touch with scanners) all the issues of the official OverPower newsletter I have and post them on this thread. I don't think these are currently online but please let me know if they are and you'll save me the bother

Here are the issues I have. Let me know if I'm missing anything. The cover dates are those printed on the cover not when the issue actually arrived...

The Monthly Venture - Issue #1, 4 pages, March 1996
The Monthly Venture - Issue #2, 4 pages, April 1996
The Monthly Venture - Issue #3, 4 pages, May 1996
The Monthly Venture - Issue #4, 6 pages, Summer 1996
The Monthly Venture - Issue #5, 6 pages, November 1996
The Monthly Venture - Issue #6, 6 pages, March 1996 (a typo, actual date was March 1997)
The Monthly Venture - Issue #7, 6 pages, Sometime around April (1997)

The Venture Volume Two Issue One, 10 pages, In or around September (1997)

The Mission Statement Volume One Number One, 4 pages (no cover date - mid to end 1998?)
The Mission Statement Volume One Issue Two, 4 pages (no cover date - early 1999?)

I would love to see these. I've only seen one on eBay and that was part of a much bigger lot that I couldn't afford.

I haven't been able to find them online.

Kal-el

This would be great. I had a least half of them but I haven't seen them in over ten years, so I have no clue what became of them. I would love to read them again.

CoS

I wish I would have saved these instead of throwing them out at the end of the term during college!

Onslaught

I was hoping to find a handful of them so you wouldn't be stuck uploading the majority of them by yourself, but I guess I only have one in my possession. The rest are in a box somewhere in an attic at my parents' house...

JohnL

Thanks for that Onslaught.

Sounds like a few people would enjoy seeing them (again) and that they aren't available elsewhere online so I'll put the lot up. I have dug them all out so that's the hardest part, I'll get to the rest in the next few days. I'm pretty sure that's all of them that I listed but let me know if you have, or remember, anything after Mission Statement Vol. 1 Issue 2

I am pretty sure that is all of them, John.  I saved everything and that is exactly what I have.

Here you go. There's a total of 54 images, one of each page. I'm not sure posting them all here is the most convenient for people to read so I uploaded them to a Picassa web album:

https://picasaweb.google.com/105378669904432868772/Missionstatement?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCLy4hNSU3bu6DQ&feat=directlink

If you hit slideshow and F11 for fullscreen you can easily browse. I completely forgot to skip the one Onslaught had done so this link has the full set.

Happy reading.

Wow, thanks for all the pictures of the newsletters. Can I get permission to put these on my OP site?

Onslaught

Thanks for taking the time. It was a fun trip down memory lane to read through those again, and it sorta reminded me how overly excited I would get whenever a new issue would arrive. One of them mentioned that holo heroes were intended to be reprinted in non-holographic versions, which I had completely forgotten about. A horizontal Batman: Detective with new art would have been a cool release.

Well it's fine by me and I can't imagine Fleer/Skybox or Marvel would be too concerned either... I took the pictures at a fairly low quality (1200 x 1600) but I think it should be more than enough to read. Let me know if any are blurred or unreadable - I didn't check every image.

Funny thing was that I almost took the time to edit out my address on the covers of the newsletters and then I realized that my Overpower legion membership number and my address 15 years ago hardly constitute valuable personal information! After living in three different cities on two continents and I forget how many addresses in that 15 years we are back in Goleta a literal stone's throw from the Ellwood beach address on those first few newsletters. Funny how life turns out.

Onslaught

Yeah but now I know your OP-Legion number, think of all the creepy things that can be done with that kind of information.

Jack

Hi OP-3111!

@JohnL: Thanks, I'll have it up on a (soon to be created) picture gallery section of the site.

Hi OP-3111!

And who's at the top of that list? A mother loving Canadian, that's who.

Nate Grey

Can't wait to check them all out. Thanks for sharing and all your effort.  :)
