So, with Hurricane Irene headed in to town (actually, Durham ended up just outside 90% of the rainbands) I got to teach my wife how to play OP this weekend.

Our first game we played a few hands open handed, but she caught on quickly.  In our second game, she destroyed me.  It was a great time! Her team was Prof X, Shi'ar, Mr. Fantastic, and Cerebro. She easily handled my team of Nightcrawler, Bishop, Gambit, and Hawkeye.  I've helped with the majority of the deckbuilding so far, but she picked the specials to use in the second game.

We are playing with any heroes and no events for now, but we will introduce more of the other dynamic elements eventually.

It's been awesome to play again. Hopefully I can break her Team Nerd soon!

That's pretty cool  8)

My wife had told me she would learn to play when we move to WA (next summer), since I'd be moving away from my regular circle of players. But, since she's learned about OPO, she's been trying to get out of it  ::)

nearly. it'll be Bothell, WA (or as close to it as we can), which is about 25 mins north of Seattle.

Cool. If I ever find myself back in Vancouver, I'll get in touch and plan a day trip! I've been meaning to go back to the west coast sometime...
