Greedy Collector Venting

So when OP first came out, there was a group of about 7 of us that played pretty consistantly. I just found out recently that when it started to die out and everybody either stored them away or lost/forgot them that one of the guys (in the group of 7) bought all of the cards from 4 of the guys. This essentially left him with 5 guys collections of OP. I called and talked to him about it the other day and he flat out DOES NOT CARE about OP anymore: no found memories, no nastalgic thoughts, nothing....I asked him if he would be interested in selling (showed him prices from bornagain and orangeking) and he kept saying "nah, they're fine where they are." This went on for several days and guess what? Now he has moved into a new house and he left all....I repeat ALL of his cards in his parents basement collecting dust. I know everyone has a right to keep or not keep whatever they want to, but this just drives me crazy. His set actually consists of nearly every card in the game (all sets, promos, Holo's, etc) and most of what he is missing are standard OPDs for people like Eradicator that he just never got for some reason. It just rubs me the wrong way becuase its people like this that don't care at all that they are holding back collections from players that want and need the cards......agree or disagree its cool - I just wanted to vent and this is one of the few places where other people can understand the pain.....

I know and its all good....I've had a lot of luck with the CCG trading page so far - its more of one of those "he lives 15 minutes from me so its kind of a taunt that he has all of these great cards that everyone on here would want but they are just sitting there"  For now I will just continue on with my posts on here and CCG - so far so good

I can totally see how frustrating it is knowing your friend got all those cards and they're just sitting there.  Especially since lots of people here in the forums are trying so hard to complete sets and actually want the cards to play with. Count me in as one of those trying desperately to get cards like Beyonder or X-Man Ultimate Potential. I have no interest in selling...I just want to play!  Grr! Now I'm venting! LOL

But anyway, that trading page has also worked well for me. Got lots of cards through there, but still had to shell out quite a bit of money to the usual OP eBay sellers.

LOL! Its so easy to vent when everyone does want these cards and there are so few channels we can go through to get them! The really sad thing is, he actually has an extra Holo for Ra's and an extra Beyonder. Now I can do without the Ra's but I would love at least the extra Beyonder! Instead both of his Beyonders and the rest of the bunch are having one big party in a box in his closet 

I'm in the same page - CCG a bit and like it or not the OP sellers - sometimes its the only way....

LOL! Nice! I have to tell you, I can't say that same thought hasn't crossed my mind    but that goes without saying..... I do work with his dad so I've been "lightly pressing him" ever other day or so to see if I can't get some movement going on with those cards.....

LOL! Yes - indeed I would! I don't think "uh what Overpower?" would work as an answer if everything was gone........
