June/August OverPower Tournament

BBH and I will be holding an OverPower tournament in June or August. We will confirm the month when we get a better estimate of number of people attending. We are expecting about 20-25 people for this tournament.

Prizes: they are very tentative at this point and are subject to having 20+ people attending. Prizes might be Beyonder, A-Next, Batman: Avenger, Assault on Onslaught missions among others. We will have prizes for up to the top 6 or 8 finishers.

Official rules, no idea what we'll allow for proxies, likely Swiss tournament pairing. Top 8 advances into elimination.

Again, nothing is set in stone, all will likely change as the date approaches.

Please consider attending this tournament even if you have to fly/drive to get to Toronto.

I personally would like to aim for June, but if August yields more players then so be it!

Hopefully some out-of-towners can make it out to pad our numbers. If so we can definitely pump up the prizes. I have holo heroes, Assault on Onslaught stuff and a Beyonder I can offer up if we get the numbers to justify it.

I don't know what else Jack has, but I figure between us we have some nice incentives.

seriously! everytime I read about these giant tournaments I get so excited! I just can't imagine spending the time and money to get out there 

I am looking at some changes this Summer, including a move back home to WA, making me slightly closer... I wonder if I could manage to pull my brothers into something about this... Then again, I keep feeling like I have to save every bit of money I can between now and the move

We're likely looking at a June tournament at a location to be determined. It'll happen on a Saturday for sure but we haven't determined a date yet. An August tournament might be ruled out because I'll have exams up till the 11th and probably a family matter to attend to at some weekend in August (this goes for bamf! as well).

Anyone who travels a significant distance (say > 250KM or so) will NOT go home empty handed: in addition to the registration gift, you will receive an OverPower t-shirt courtesy of me! There will also be an random opportunity to win a t-shirt as well so you could possibly go home with a registration gift, 2 T-shirts and an awesome prize!

The other part of the registration gift is to be determined but I will include a colour print out of Avenger's ID AND the AP Teamwork that will be legal to use in our meetups and tournaments!

Prize list will be slightly modified, but instead of A-Next, there will be a 5 Multipower Power card (assuming we have enough participants).

Less than one week away! Judging from preliminary numbers, it looks like it's going to be a tournament (swiss-style).
