OverPower Distribution

I've heard this touched on in both a serious and a joking manner in posts lately and I was curious as to whether or not it may be true.

Was there a difference in the distribution of OP that anyone knows about: state-state or state-canada, etc.

I know everybody that played in my area growing up (7-10 toal people) could never get a White Queen or a Hellfire Club Tessa that wasn't coded AA.  I know at one point I had 5 of White Queens IA OPD but never popped a character card and I had 5-6 of the Tessa AA but never popped the correct version. This was massively popular in my area. I know total for the 7-10 guys we opened at least 5 full IQ boxes and 2-3 Monumental (not counting possible extra packs for either) and we never popped a White Queen Character or a Tessa card that was not AA. I'm sure there were more like this, but these are the main two that come to mind.

Way back then when IQ first came out, I did eventually make a trade with a guy from CA that had 3 or White Queen characters but could never pop the IA and the same for the Tessa.

Am I completely nuts on thinking this was a distribution thing or was it just a luck of the area/draw?
Beta Ray Bill makes a WHOLE lot more sense at Avengers Mansion than Beyonder showing up and helping out during a fight. - breadmaster

I remember when I played before we thought the original 3 stat Magneto was a super rare or something since none of us had seen one.

Towards the end of us playing I cracked one in a pack that had fewer than the correct number of cards, but I remember it had Dr Doom, Spider Man, Iron Man, and Venom, but I think it might have just been those 5 cards. It was pretty strange.

A lot of it could be just perception or small sample sizes too.

I agree. It just seemed odd to me.

regardless of getting a smaller pack size, that's still one heck of a pull!

The white queen issue was just one of those weird things that happens with a small sample size.  Both getting too many opd's and not a hero.

The Tessa issue on the other hand does have an answer.  As far as I know, one of the codes (JA or AA) came from the boosters and the other one came from the starters.  So you could open boosters all day long and you were never going to find the other card.  It was just an error on one of the sheets.  If you search on here, I believe Onslaught posted the uncut starter sheet with the hellfire club deck on it.  You may be able to find the Tessa card on there ;)

The rarest card I ever pulled was an 8 any from California
